i got the 40gb ps3.

i have been robbed

it doesnt play ps2 games.

i feel like a donkey.

is there any updates that allow u too play ur ps2 games?

hah, i dont get the beef about this.

You just boguht a ps3 with NEXTGEN games. why on earth do you want to play ps2 games?

anyway for the record, sony ARE working on a patch/software that will eventually allow backward compatibility on the 40gig ps3's.

In the mean time, go grab DMC4, COD4, Warhawk, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Unreal Tournament3, Pro Evo 2008, Rock Band etc etc..

Just to make thing clear,there is no way the 40 GB ps3 will be able to play any ps2 games now or in the future,they removed the thing inside of it that alows you to updated the ps2 games to play,and they did this to decrease the price,also keep your ps2 gor your ps2 games and your ps3 has alot of great new games man.

khlaed, there were rumours of software emulation being released for those people, so its not all over yet.

Well i find this unlikely as i said they removed the hardware that makes software emulation possible in the first place.

Anyways speaking of which,the new update to the ps3 really makes the ps3(or the 360 for that matter) the ultimate media center,the new update has the divx codec which pretty much makes you play any video you have on your cpu on the ps3 or 360,i do want to stress out thought that the divx on the ps3 is a bit limited since there are files that dont work but i am sure future updates will fix that.

the metal gear solid movement is underway.

number 4 is coming, officially to the ps3 only. Official release date, worldwide is July 12. It comes with a starter pack to Metal Gear Online.

those who dont have a ps3 yet, heres your lucky day.

mgs4, mgOnline, resistance 2, killzone 2, LBP!!!, Haze, Gran Turismo 5, Eight Days, Gran Theft Auto 4 and many more, this year is an exciting year for ps3 owners.

Anyone played Assassin's Creed? It's supposed to be a great PC game but it's on PS3 as well. I'm considering to buy it along with Metal Gear Solid 4, Call of Duty 4, GT5, Lair and NBA 2k8

I'm really going to purchase all games possible in the next months

Lair is good, they are releasing a patch soon that fixes control problems.

AC was one of the worst games id ever played. The only reason it sold well was because of the marketing behind the game, everyone wanted it. But it was one of the biggest let downs in video game history, it could of been so much more.

Uncharted, ONLY for the ps3 averaged a full point more then AC in average ratings from all the respects reviewers. Graphically, you wont find a better game and it runs for the same length. Excellent characters, excellent story line, your nuts if you dont get uncharted.

Gran Turismo Prologue. If I won't play online, will I get into it? From what I've seen through reviews it's mostly for online use. I want a 'career' mode like GT3 when I played for weeks trying to collect money and buy new cars and go into races etc... Is this one like that? I'm going tomorrow (or in two days if shops are closed) to buy a few games

I have had the game for about 2 weeks now, and I have yet to play it online. Finishing the normal mode (4 classes, and extras) should take you long enough.

Not mentioning getting 2,000,000 points to buy the F1 Ferarri.

BTW, when you go to get games. Get GTA IV.

Yeah, GTA is a must for me as well. It's better though for me to put the spare money I have now(around 250 euros) in my empty bank account and import the games from Canada or the USA, but I just can't bloody wait Games here are more than double the price compared to those from there!!!

So about GT5 Prologue, you're saying that it's exactly the same as the "career" modes of GT3 etc? Coz the price here is very low compared to other games and in the reviews it talks about online play etc. Seems very odd.
