I get he is free but will be 30 when he gets here so if he sucks... we are fkd getting him off our books at 4.5m a season

That’s again why his contract runs out, Sensi is gone next summer as contracts expire and we won’t likely extend it with his glass build.

Klassan also expire unless we use the option for that extra season and seem rather unlikely he is currently 30, so an immediate improvement.

I would keep Klassen as a 7 mid.

So we are about to transform from Gags and Vecino to Zielinski in a free transfer and people still complain.
The guy is a class and even with his eyes closed he will give more than than we got from Gags and Vecino ever. He can make the pass that unlocks the defense, he is smart and takes risks. Will be amazing addition to our squad, definitely for a free transfer.

He is more a last pass player compare to our midfield, which we are lacking.
I can see how versatile our midfield can be, all depends on how Inzaghi is setting it up.
Also I am expecting more competition for first team next year with Asllani more developed, Frattesi settled in the first big club of his, and Zielinski, but it would also depend on our opponent, and hope Inzaghi find the best way to get everyone play, especially if we get the second star stress off this year.

I am happy with a lot things going on with this club.

His shooting is also great, very powerful, yet with nice technique, in addition to everything else mentioned...no brainer of he is willing to ditch Napoli

And I am not sure if any of our current midfielders is as good with his left foot as Zielinski

Given comments about him being in poor form, sometimes a player needs a change of scenery. I remember back years ago when Pirlo was signed by Juventus on a free transfer, a lot of talk was about how he was over the hill as he had a rather poor time in Milan with poor form and injuries even in their Scudetto winning season.

Not comparing Zielinski to Pirlo in any way, but we've seen players make a huge leap with a change of scenery. We even have one of them in our midfield who was also a free transfer (Hakan).

Also he's playing in a team that are in absolute freefall so it's almost impossible for him to look good. This is an exciting signing and shows we still have a lot of pull when the playing field is more level. If he had 2/3 years on his contract we would have no chance.

Looking at the bright side: he's got to be better than Klaassen, he's healthier than Sensi, and most importantly he's older than Asllani.
