Polls are pointless. This is an unanimous decision by us Admins.

100 pixels = 5 lines of posts

250 pixels = 12-13 lines of posts

Even if we limit the height of signatures to 250 pixels, the MAJORITY of posts text will be shorter than the image in the signature. :nono:

For me, the biggest height I'll tolerate is 50 pixels, and length 150.

Also, I've seen simple small graphics in forums that has is basically just a line with a very small picture and very little text like "Cambiasso fan" or "Italia supporter"...Now that's still acceptable to me.

ok, what about 100 x 200 limit or something? or even those cool things. One image only per sig? the main problem for me is like the width of avatars allows u no room for text or anything so u end up squashing it over the player.

hold up.

hans suggestion = 50x150

maybe.. 75x150

or.. 100x200 (maybe a bit big)

over and out. Time for work

cue major arguments by the time im home

I think some of you guys let the experience of other forums influence you way too much about this issue. I've seen forums with graphic sigs that suck, simply because they don't have clear size limits.

Now, the height of the picture is the key: some idiots in other forums use pics that are the equivalent of like 40 lines of text, and that creates the scrolling.

Now look at this:

This wouldn't create ANY scrolling. If you say the opposite you're simply talking shit. As for slow connections, it would hardly matter considering the size.

Not yet. I'll try to bring up this issue with the rest as soon as I get back to SF.

Stay tuned. To be honest, don't expect much since all the admins have been against having pictures in signatures for years. But we are not unreasonable b@stards who do not listen to the voices of our people. We'll discuss about this.

Oh God, I don't like the sound of this. Seven years at forums, but never once stayed at a forum that allows images in signatures.

Lighten up, Jimbo. We could always undertake a trial period, as opposed to permanent implementation of the rule. :)

I don't have nothing against to having pictures in the signature, but I think a discrete size is an imperative. The size that Frisko and Katie's last one (same size I think) seem reasonable to me, however the forums must run smoothly for every member and since the forums are a growing community we shouldn't limit access to those that have slower connections.

Therefore I agree with those that said that a trial period is necessary before any decision is made.

There are some vBulletin boards which give an option of no sigs to be shown at all, perhaps they may be a no "jpeg" sig.

I would love the idea of having graphic signatures, would add a little more flavour and taste. So long as there were rules that were set, as some forums do look ridiculous due to this.

Now, that will save all the problems here. :) If there is such an option, there is no argument against why members shouldn't be allowed to have pictures in their signatures.

Inside sources from the modetaror forum is telling me that the vote is yes:no 3:4. :lala:

The good news is, there is an option to turn off the viewing of signatures altogether. It's in the Control Panel > Edit Options.

The bad news is, those with a distaste for scrolling past graphical sigs embedded in posts will have to make do with no sigs at all. :D

Their bloody problem, really. :p

what the heck is the point of having a picture in in sigs if it is rectangle or square shaped. Thast means its just another avatar.

If anything we should make them banner sizes, that makes ALOT more sense.
