this...why we sold an uncut diamond...we should keep and polished it.. it's a fuckin diamond ffs.

The same reason why we all want to sell JM.

We gave Countinho time to play but due to various reasons there was no signs of real improvement. So we dediced to cut our losses the same way we are willing to cut our losses with JM now.

Selling Countinho allowed us to buy Kovacic who at the time seemed far better.

We'll know by Friday whether the deal will go through, rumoured bid is 150m with anywhere from 110-125 fixed.

Personally, I am not a proponent of the move but value the player and what he could bring to the squad

Seriously... Messi's probably the most overrated player ever. He's no more than Cristiano Ronaldo and he flops on the big games. Maradona didn't. Romario didn't. Zidane didn't. Pele didn't. Simple as that. They all won at least a World Cup being key players for their teams, while Messi flopped against Germany. Against Inter. Against... whatever. He's far, and by far I really mean far and far away from the big guys. Technique wise? Don't even get me started...

If you have read the Lionel Messi thread in the World of Football, you would have noticed that I said Messi is overrated player, and people laughed at me. Honestly, Messi can't be ever considered with the likes of Pele, Maradona.. they both are far better than Messi. As you said above that Messi failed at the most important matches like against us in the Champions League, then he failed with Argentina in the WC (he was expected to be much better, but he was nothing more than crap).

In fact, I think C.Ronaldo is better player than Messi, he's more completed in overall, has better shooting power, he's good header, better body balance and so.. but anyways this is just what I think, and we may have different opinions here in the board.

Sorry for being off-topic, but BrP's post touched me.

The. Most. Overrated. Player. Ever. :trollol:

he doesn't need to bulk up

and L'pool is a perfect team for him

I wish L'pool and Cou to succeed

so FIF laughed at L'pool and Tottenham, but now do you guys see how fucked up we are?

Coutinho did the perfect thing - going to L'pool saved his career

Good for him that he left, those morons who sold him ruined many careers. I think that Alvaro Recoba left on time that he would definitely had same impact on world of football like Coutinho have right now. Super attractive, high transfers, screamer goals etc.

So it seems we're getting 1.25% of the transfer fee. Wow, that is terrible. When you sell a youngster at a stupidly low price, at least get a proper sell-on fee in the deal, like 10%. Thanks Branca.

If you trace the money it's basically:
Coutinho>Kovacic>Kondogbia>Cancelo

It's like swapping your new Ferrari for an Alfa, then swapping that for a Fiat, then trading that for Hyundai. I wonder who our Kia will be next season?

1.25% is the standard youth development sell on fee (pro-rated out of 5%). This implies to me we didnt hold any sort regular sell on fee for him

Coutinho to Kovacic was good decision. Coutinho looked like he will never have his breakthrough at Inter when Kovacic almost instantly added much needed creativity to the team.

Kova for Kdog was bad from the beginning. Even if Kondogbia had been better IMO it was horrible decision to let Kova go for Kondogbia kind of player.

If they are not going to use him why keep him? let the kid go and maybe have a decent career.

Decent indeed Interista809.

- - - Updated - - -

Its not Inter's fault, its somebody else responsibility like the many other talented players they have let go because they don't "fit." Kovacic is next. Who could fault Inter for not providing an atmosphere where talented youngsters can flourish no its not their fault.

And he saw the future.

so that means that liverpool will pay us 1.25% of what they get for coutinho? if they sell him for, let's say, 120 mln euros, that would be 1.5 for us. lol, what a misery.
