I don't think I have ever had less emotion for a goal than for Icardi's winner. But thank God for the 3 points!

lot's of emotion for me bruh. basically didn't watch inter last season, this is my first game i watched in ages, was praying for the last minute goal, and it wasn't a cheesy goal either, nice finish

Ok, so what we've learned from this match:

1) Medel should never play in that position again under De Boer's system

2) Banega is much, MUCH needed at the back to dictate our gameplay

3) Palacio is good for creating chaos and pressing in the last 10 minutes of the match. Other than that, he will be useless till his contract expires

4) JM will play, and lots of it. Banega too. That leaves only 1 place for Medel/Kondo/Brozovic

5) Jovetic had a chance of starting next league match, untill Icardi scored those 2 goals that is.

6) Handanovic when he wants can be one of the top GK in the world

Vital win. We kept going to the end and that perseverance paid off. Handanovic made some crucial saves. Joao Mario looked very assured in centre midfield. Icardi just proves that he is prob the best goal poacher around. Does not do much all game in terms of teamwork but gets 2 chances and converts them. Well should have scored that other header but he made up for it. 2 quality finishes.

I never really entertained the idea of Banega in the AM role. Too slow. He was much better when positioned deeper as he is able to get more touches of the ball and really show his creativity. What a ball that was for Icardi. Onwards and upwards. Bring on Juve!

No. Both goals were scored while Palacio was on the pitch. Palacio needs to play more.

Sarcasm aside, his movement does peel off defenders and ease the pressure on Icardi. For a poacher to face 4-5 defensive minded players by himself is difficult.

We've taken 3 points from far worse games, so I'll gladly take this. Hopefully we'll continue to see improvements.

His deeper position was where he gave the ball away for the Pescara goal.

So just because of that you rather have no attack?

In De Boer's system, a player who can place a vertical pass is absolutely needed. And plus, Banega's pass was a long pass 60m vertically up the pitch, if our team can't even regroup for a slow turnover like that, then we might as well just give up the game.

I thought we played quite well for so early in the season. You can see the impact of midfielders who can actually pass in Banega and Mario. Specially Banega, he can really pass. Very brave of FDB with his substitutions. But that positivity did give Inter a lift, so a good call.

Now I want to see continuing improvement with a good game against the gobbi.

Juve match will be more entertaining cause they won't sit their ass back and defend with 11 players. Our players will have more spaces to work with.

I think Medel is gone if De Boer stays after this season. I don't think he can play in front of defense the way De Boer wants and on the side he's no beast. Unless he agrees to a bench role. Same could be said for Kondogbia, depends on how he does this season. As for offense, Eder pretty much gone and I think Icardi is 50/50. Milik is also very similar to Icardi and he did play under De Boer so we'll see.

But what is obvious is that this muscle shit that we went for under Mancini [sic] is pretty much over, and if you don't posess enough technique to receive and pass the ball, you're pretty much done with this team. This shit won't keep on going. Shouldn't be suprising after what Mancini did to us (buckle up).

His off ball movements are better than whatever Candreva was trying to do on the pitch.

Weird match, 100% Pazza Inter.

We badly need WBs. We should actually consider, after a lot of tactical training, playing 352. Icardi is a killer. Palacio should not be here anymore.

Oh God I'm fucking relieved. This should ease down pressure on FdB and the squad.
We're playing Juve next week, imagine what would be the state of mentality after losing that (which is pretty much likely) and we didn't manage to win any of our previous matches.
All in all, I clearly see improvements in our attacking plays, although defensively we gave up too many spaces. It doesn't help that Pescara are a good attacking team, though unlucky with their finishing.

Individually, Icardi does what he knows best. Just compare that to the rest of our team missing sitter after sitter, esp. Papalacio and Banega.
Joao Mario had a decent debut. Such a calming presence in midfield. His partnership with Banega is only going to get better I believe.

What exactly was our plan in the build up? "Hey, lets just kick it and see what happens?" And it dropped to Icardi in the most favorable way possible. No skill involved in the touch or the pass, just 100% good fortune. Then he made a nice finish.

We have wingers for the first time in god knows how many years, and now you want to switch back to Mazzarri-era Inter? Even admitting we don't have quality WBs???
