It's become clearer and clearer as our preseason training camp has moved along, Mazzari wants an experienced striker. Before Roma signed him Napoli but in a bid for him. It's known Mazzari is a huge fan of him.
I've been saying this recently in my opinion; For his experience, Osvaldo is the perfect center forward for Mazzari's high pressure system. Osvaldo has great feet, he's a force in the box, and is exceptional at reading the game. He makes countless runs through the channels . For a 3 back system to work you need a centerforward to create space for your fullbacks. A back 3 starts most of the play everything in a 3 back system comes from the fullbacks, in order to be succesfull you must be able to create space to play it long to them. Osvaldo stretches the field. He will create a lot of width and force the opponents backline to play wide. He commands a two man mark making a lot of 1 on 1 chances for our fullbacks bombing forward. Mazzari's high pressure attacking system needs a center forward who commands a double mark through the middle channels. Belfodil is not this type of player and Icardi is very young. With Milito loosing 3 steps and the bumps along the road from Icardi if we want to make Cl football Osvaldo is a must. The perfect centravanti for this club. With signing him you will be guaranteeing goals for your club. Were talking about when hes on top form the starting forward for the Italian nazionale. He will be partnered with Balotelli and El Shaarway next summer.
