MILAN - F.C. Internazionale and A.S. Roma have reached an agreement over the player David Marcelo Cortes Pizarro. Previously co-owned by the two clubs, the Chilean midfielder will become a Roma player from 1 July 2007. Inter will gain 5.75 million euros (VAT excluded) from the deal.

The deadline for the co-ownership deals expires tonight at 19:00 local time and the envelopes will be opened tomorrow at the Lega Calcio offices.

And that could be the reason as to why we sold Pizarro today. But lets hope that we have already got Chivu coz I rate the player highly and most importantly it seems that the coach wants him for some reasons and sometimes you gotta keep the coach happy as well.

Roma Confirm Pizarro Agreement, Chivu Announcement Expected Roma have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Inter Milan to take full control of David Pizarro's registration.

The two clubs had been haggling over the issue for a while.
Inter wanted 6 million euros for their half, and also for it to be included as a part of the deal for Christian Chivu. Roma, meanwhile, wanted to pay no more than 5, and were insistent on keeping the two deals separate.
It looked like the issue would only be solved through the sealed envelopes, but the Suazo incident has hastened proceedings, and an agreement has been reached in time.
Said Roma through a statement: "AS Roma and FC Inter communicate that they have struck a deal over handing the full ownership of David Pizarro to AS Roma starting July 1st.
"The amount is 5.75 million Euros, that will be paid over 3 years."
Earlier this morning, the 'Gazzetta dello Sport' had suggested that an agreement has been struck between the clubs that will see Inter pay the Giallorossi 12 million Euros for Chivu, in addition to handing over their half of Pizarro's contract.
The formal revelation of the Pizarro deal hints that a similar one for Chivu could be close! Therefore, expect more details to arrive in the next hours.

We sold him for €6.5m last summer? That's €12.25m in total, which more or less equals what we paid for Udinese for him.

Oh well good bye the one player whom I thought would/could replace Veron, but never got a real chance to prove it. Oh well.
