I'm not surprised this went through. Though perhaps it will be like the Leonardo pickup AC Milan did a few seasons back. The player hardly plays games during the season and at the end of the season the player retires and joins the management or coaching staff.

I hope that that is all thats gonna happen though why Mihajlovic?

1. Rascist - It was famous clach between him and Patric Viera. as you all know, Viera is very good player, but also very dirty. He spits, tackles very bad... when he came to Sinisa, he called him "white trash" and "gipsy". Sinisa replyed him in same manner calling him black scum. I am not defending Sinisa because he made a mistake. And he said publicly that he's sorry. What did Viera ??? Nothing!!! When he calls someone else dirty names, it's ok. But when someone replied him, it's rascism. F*ck positive discrimination... and it's shame that you people defend someone like Viera and belive only his words. Mihajlovic made a mistake, but this doesn't make him a rascist. At the end, we all are a little bit rascist. Just some of us expres it in public, other are hiding it deep inside.

2. Supporter of war criminals - Sinisa was born in Vukovar Croatia, and there was his house. Do you know what happend it - Croats burned it. 2 milion Serbs were living in croatia before the war. Today, I think only 50 000 of them remain there. Sinisa was with his people, he suported them when they were executed and casted out. Alos when Nato was bombing my country, he was against that. When someone is attacking you, you're not going to lick his ass. And is that a war crime ??? If it is, then I am a war criminal and I'm guilty as Miha

I hate to talk about political things, but when someone talks about our civil war without knowing anything about it - it makes me sick. Fuck politics!!!!!

3. Sinisa isn't a good person - What do you know about it. I don't know him personaly, but I've heard good things about him and his personal life. And something about spiting Mutu - it was bad. But anyone who was playing football knows that spiting, elboving and hard tackles are the part of game. I am not aproving it, but those acts are present there.
Do you remmember when Mutu was playing for Inter. There he had a clash with Mihajlovic, he was provocating him and also elboving him once. But Sinisa didn't forget this


Miha was very good player, now hi is 35 but still he was playing an outstanding last season. Remmember Inter - Lazio when he totaly stoped Adriano. He has good skills, powerfull shot and amazing free kicks. He is also strong and has a lot of expirience - this is why I think he'll be a good back-up for first team. Better than Adani I think (with all respect to Daniele, but his last season was very bad. His goals were important, but as a defence player - he was very disapointing)

Very interesting. I got to say that I was defending Mihajlovic here because basically I thought people were accusing him of too many things without enough proof. But then an user called Javier Zanetti posted an article from The Guardian newspaper, which left me with a sense of disgust toward him.

I know very little about the situation in the balcans, and I'm very wary of making any kind of judgement.

Mihajlovic faces extended ban after latest night of shame

Sinisa Mihajlovic seems to have a faustian fascination with controversy. Lazio's Serbia-Montenegro international heaped more shame on himself and his team during their 4-0 home defeat by Chelsea when he spat at Adrian Mutu. Anyone who has followed his career, though, will not have been surprised.

His racial abuse of Arsenal's Patrick Vieira in Rome in 2000, in which he repeatedly called the Frenchman "a F****** black monkey", prompted an investigation by Italian police. The Serb might have faced a three-year jail sentence had Vieira pressed charges, but the inquiry was dropped after he apologised in the centre circle before Lazio's next home Champions League match.

Mihajlovic, 34, is both feted and reviled in Serbia for his fervent nationalism, association with notorious warlords, mafia and war criminals, and his fanatical support of Slobodan Milosevic, the former Serbian leader being tried for genocide in The Hague.

The Belgrade press reacted wearily yesterday to Tuesday's spitting incident, reporting without outrage that Mihajlovic could be suspended for several months. Serbian sport websites attracted strong criticism of the dead-ball specialist, with fans in Belgrade saying they were tired of his antics and that he was a national disgrace.

But that did not appear to reflect the consensus in a city where during the Milosevic years, football was a highly politicised and lucrative arm of the regime. The warlord Zeljko Raznjatovic, aka Arkan, gunned down in a Belgrade hotel in 2000, was indicted for war crimes after leading his "Tigers" paramilitaries on killing sprees in Bosnia and Croatia.

When Arkan was shot, Mihajlovic paid for tributes to him in the Belgrade press, and bared his torso to Lazio fans to reveal the dedication, Tiger.

"People no longer care about their political affiliations if someone's a big star," said Dejan Anastasijevic, a Belgrade commentator. "As long as these guys are successful, they're forgiven their follies."

The perception of Mihajlovic as a neo-fascist has often endeared him to many of Lazio's hardline fans, but the relationship has often been shaky. On his arrival in Serie A, with Roma in September 1992, many Italian supporters jeered him for his Gypsy heritage.

Though his reputation as a midfielder-cum-central defender with an ability to score from magnificent free-kicks won over Lazio's hard core after his move there in 1998, the love affair almost broke down last year. After sustained baiting of him in a defeat by Milan, Mihajlovic marched over and spat at the Curva Nord, home to Lazio's irriducibili , an act that almost precipitated his departure.

They have since patched up their differences and, though his reputation would suggest he has no redeeming features, Mihajlovic has his admirers.

Mihajlovic does not lack belief in his own football abilities and appears to feel he is discriminated against. In 1999, when well beaten in the European Footballer of the Year voting by Rivaldo, Mihajlovic said he failed to win because he was a Serb.

Uefa are investigating the latest incident, in which he also appeared to kick Mutu. Mihajlovic was later sent off for two lunges at Damien Duff, and is set for an extended ban.

The dismissal and his past record - Mihajlovic was given a two-match ban for "unsporting actions" during the 2000 game with Arsenal - are likely to end his participation in this season's Champions League. "An investigation is under way," said Uefa. "We will look at the whole incident and consider what may have provoked it." There were suggestions that Mutu elbowed Mihajlovic just before the spitting incident.

"It was humiliating to be spat at," said Mutu, "but I didn't react as I put the team before any personal vendetta. He has a very poor sense of humour. Some exchanges were made but he couldn't take it, so he got violent. It was unprovoked and he started it."

The Serb has his defenders. In his book Sven-Goran Eriksson On Football, England's coach applauds his will to win. Eriksson is such an admirer of Mihajlovic that he took him from Roma to Sampdoria and then to Lazio, considering his left foot the source of half a dozen goals a season.

More surprising, perhaps, is the character reference from Eriksson's personal manager Athole Still, who knows Mihajlovic socially. "His behaviour on Tuesday was unacceptable and unforgivable," said Still. "But he is a Jekyll-and-Hyde character who transforms on the pitch. As a family man, he is the most benign, relaxed, pleasant character."

Look, I don't have a lot of interes to explain to you all about my country and my people. But I hate lies because lies and propaganda have brought my country to this level.

This doesn't have nothing to do with football and Inter, but I think you're going to learn something new.

Now let's go back to subject - Miha and his history. It isn't true that he suported Slobodan Milosevic. He was suporting people of Serbia and Montenegro during the NATO bombing. But, propaganda is a big machine. NATO practicly said - everyone who speaks against our action, is suportnig Slobodan Milosevic. That's big crap. A lot of people here didn't suport Milosevic, but they were against bombing. I can bet you didn't see what NATo was doing here. Despite they were destroing military targets, they were also bombing bridges, TV networks and hospitals! I have pictures if someone doesn't belive me.
And Sinisa Mihajlovic wasn't the only sportsman to stand up against that. There were also our football players playing in Italy and Spain, our basketball and voleyball chamipons.
They were doing that because in first place - they are good persons. They like their country, and because of this they have all my respect.

Also a tip about Zeljko Raznatovic Arkan. Serbs are calling him a hero, muslims and croats are calling him a war criminal. After the war, he was very ritch. I bet you know how he has earned this money :dielaugh:
Everyone was doing the same thing. When they ocupate a location, they would exploiting it to maximum. So as Arkan.
BUT Arkan was a great and brave soldier. His fighters called themselfs Tigers, and I can assume you they were brave as the tigers are (also very disciplined, better that the regular army) Arkan and his forces protected and saved a lot of Serbs in the war and because of that he was respected and admired everywhere among his people. He was also defending Serbs around Vukovar, the place where Sinisa was born and raised. Because of this, Miha gave a tribute to Arkan when he was assasineted.

This is my point of view. You may not belive me - I don't care. I have said what I wanted to say. And for you all - do not seek the true only with one eye. Try to open another one, then maybe yoy will see it much better. And don't belive to anything you read (that also encludes my post ) Think before you react

At the end - Miha is a good back up for first team and that's all. He'll bring expirience and leadership and that's it
