Oba
Great stuff from Oba, especially the second goal! I wish Oba had stayed at Inter, but at least with Newcastle it seems like he is guaranteed a starting place.

It was also nice to see Emre and Oba together and of course the famous somersaults!

I have a feeling Martins will trouble Man U defense, hopefully he scores a goal or two.

I don't like the Newcastle supporters who apparently lost patience with Martins. Your putting way to much pressure on him!!!!!

Durai, Oba will have Ferdinand in his back pocket today. Rio is the most overated defender in our country and i hope Oba shows him a trick or two.

Well written, nothing less expected out of you though. :star:

Just a note, Oba's pace terrorised the Serie A defence for two seasons and not one, Jimmy. ;) He did pretty well in 03/04 and scored 20+ goals in all competition in the next season.

And if you wanted some more stats about how many goals he scored with his left or right foot, you could have found it in this post. :D

24 with his left foot, 20 with his right. Martins might well be the most two-footed forward we've ever had. :D

lol you guys crack me up, if Ferdinand is overrated so is Martins, for Christ sake he has only scored one freaking goal in 5 epl matches. not a very impressive statistic if you ask me, and I haven't been that impressed by his performance for Newcastle so far. yeah it was a great goal indeed, but all strikers scores great goal from time to time.

And I think it's about time for u to forget him, he won't come back and why should he after the way we treated him. Besides the epl suits him allot better then seria a where the markings are allot tighter and when you are Martins size and without excellent technique then your doomed to fail. besides the epl defenders haven't gotten use to him yet, we all saw that he totally vanished after the serie a defenders got use to him.

he needs some time to settle and don't forget he just came back from injury.

Alot of the big CF signing in the EPL this season are finding it difficult to get into scoring form...

Sheva - 1 goal
Berbatov - 1 goal
Bellamy - 0 goal (although hew scored 1 in CL qualifying)
Martins - 1 goal

The biggest success thus far has been Andrew Johnson who has moved from Crystal Palace in the Championship to Everton and found the net 6 times and Kanu of Portsmouth who has scored 5 times.

While refusing to rule out a return to Internazionale at some point in the future, he is adamant that he wants to bring success to the North East first.

"Never say never, but before that I want to win the title with Newcastle," Martins told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The language isn't a problem, the club hold me in high esteem, my team-mates too, and I already had a friend here in Belozoglu Emre.

"We live really close and we frequently speak about Inter."

The Tyneside faithful may not be overly enamoured with his continuing fondness for his old club, but Martins has reassured fans it is only natural.

"I spent five years of my life with Nerazzurri, it's impossible to forget," he added.
