Martins packs his bags Monday 14 August, 2006

Obafemi Martins is eager to leave Inter after the club signed Hernan Crespo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic last week.
The Nigerian striker had already expressed his desire to quit after his struggles last term and a departure now looks a certainty.
Owner Massimo Moratti seems keen on keeping the African though after recently denying rumours that he was set to be sold to Liverpool.
The oil-tycoon, however, is also aware that it will be difficult to convince Martins to stay with little prospect of being in the first team and many alluring offers coming from England and Spain.
Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder has reiterated his desire of having Martins at his disposal this season.
“It's not going to be easy to sign a player of Martins' quality, but I do like him and I don't mind saying that,” admitted Roeder.
“The club is close to signing two or three players in the next 10 days, we hope Martins will be one of them.”
Portsmouth are also ready to present an offer to Inter for the 22-year-old forward and English reports are suggesting that they have sent their officials to Italy to discuss the deal.
The Premiership club is allegedly willing to pay up to £9.5m to convince Martins to move to Fratton Park, but will have to also face competition from Valencia.
The Spanish side is ready to offer £8.5m plus a six-year contract and Coach Quique Sanchez Flores is eager to finalise his squad as soon as possible, thus suggesting that the next week may prove to be decisive for Martins.
