We have too many strikers and unfortunately for Ventola it makes sense to sell him. I would be sad to see him go though even though it is prob the right thing to do, both for him and the club.

As for Martins he is definitely ready for a bigger role in the Inter strike force. What a headache Mancini must get when thinking about which strikers should be his number one next season.

First aand foremost, i think there's a misunderstanding here. I never mentioned Bobo cos' i know he will be benched for most of this coming season, whether i like it or not :depress: . What i'm trying to say is YES, Martins can challenge for the first team spot. But to rely on him for the majority of our goals will be too much for him, IMO.We have to work on our best partnership, ie ADI-CHINO. If we start these two for most of our games, then i believe we can finally get one level up. Bobo will be chipping in here and there but i believe Mancini will work with Adi-Chino. I'm therefore saying Bobo and Martins should be benched cos of their immaturiy and style of play respectively. Because of the fact that Adi-Bobo was mediocre last season, either one will definitely be benched.. :)
Fair enough.

However, i am still of the opinion that Martins can clearly start matches with increased frequency. I do not fancy the partnership of Adriano and Recoba because i feel that both of them are more similair in style that from the rest of the other strikers. Both of them are excellent creators as well as golscorers, but i see their role as more of the former than the latter. Martins on the other hand, has more of the golpoacher's instinct in him than that of a gol creator. Therefore, i believe the best strike-force lineup will be a tried and tested duo of a creator and a golpoacher - Adriano/Recoba or Martins/Vieri. :)

Anyway, why are you so sure Vieri will be benched?

Ciao,
Tim

So happy he joins Inter for the 5th time. He's a real Interista and he deserves getting a chance in coppa italia, CL or some matches in Serie A. Maybe it is just a thought of an Inter fan, but it hasn't already been told that he will leave. I'd rather see Kallon leaving (no place in the line-up, problems with illegal specifics) or Cruz (I've never liked him, and he's turning 30 in September. Time to move). Surely Vieri, Recoba, Martins and Adriano are better than Ventola, but he can compete with Eliakwu for a place in some matches of less interest. However, being the 5th or 6th striker might not satisfy him, so if he wants he should leave. Another loan would not make sense.

Ventola is banned for 3 years???

i have been trying to find some news regarding ventola's possible 3-year ban (because of his illegal gambling last year when he was with siena)...an unconfirmed rumor which i heard from a chinese INTER web site reports that ventola will be banned for 3 years...is that the reason why we are going after anelka??

if he is banned, then the decision of selling kallon would make us stupid... and KEEP CRUZ!!!

btw, last time I heard abt this issue, I thought Ventola was found not guilty. :D :proud:

In an interview given to "The Sun" Ventola declaired he is happy with his rola at Crystal palace and does not want to return to Inter. I think that's good for him to pursue a career in Premiership but for me nothing's gonna stop Palace from being relegated, so I guess he'll join other Premier League or Serie A team after the loan period. Or maybe having a place in the first team is so vital for him that he can even play in Division 1?

Ventola was bought by Palace in the January Transfer window and he is not on loan anymore. Good for him, let's hope he fully recovers from another injury.

well, ventola has heart, but being at inter at his developing years with so many star players, nervouse coaches, and too many injuries diddnt help him..

He is pretty much liked in CP.. his coach said that he liked Ventola attitude, He said that Ventola was the next great thing, and he is now with so many difficulties, but the lad works hard every day..

If you wanna wish a player to recover his great form, Ventola should be the one... This lad has attitude... I think onlly with top recovery Ventola can play with us in the next two or three years... Other than that our front sides are just having better players...

I am not Verntola's fan.. but I admire his heart and attitude... He should have stayed at Atalanta a little bit longer...

Actually, you couldn't be more wrong. Ventola was one of Italia's rising stars and was chosen as a forward for the U-21 team before, and i believe he was called up for the Olympics. He always had potential ever since he was at Bari, and i believe in the 97/98 season he was purchased by Moratti.

Due to injuries and the pool of talent at Inter, he was never given a fair chance to fufill his potential. However, whenever called upon he gave it his best and is loved by Interisti around the world. Ventola is great!

So let me get something clear.... Ventola is 100% owned by Crystal Palace now?

They're getting relegated so why would he stay with them in English Championship.

Is he coming back or what?

and I don't think he's even scored a single goal for CP. :depress:

since i follow the EPL very closely.

Ventola has done nothing more then win a penalty for CP.

However his injury set him back big time.
but his been on the bench in his last 2 games!

josigod why do I find myself shaking my head at just about every thing you say.

Nicola Ventola has just scored for CP to give them a 2-1 lead over Southampton. It was a good finish on the half volley in a 1-on-1 against Antti Niemi. Ventola has looked lively so far.

Inter's other on-loan player at Crystal Palace, Gonzalo Sorondo, was sent off. He didn't do anything wrong, he had a confrontation with that tall Southampton striker Crouch who elbowed him in the face, for some reason the referee thought Sorondo was guilty as well. If Sorondo's appeal (I'm sure CP will appeal) loses then the FA is a bunch of f-cking idiots.

well tough luck for CP, Southampton scored a late equaliser.
