I for one dont think he was that good. Showed heart, and did great in the last 10 mins when most were dead tired, but in general lost too many balls, misplaced too many passes and that miss was awful.

Agreed. I felt like he had a U-shaped game in that he started off really well, then dipped in performance for the middle bulk of the match, but recovered nicely at the end.

I can't believe some people are criticizing him you would literally have to play the perfect game not to get criticized by some of you guys. He was phenomenal, yes he lost some balls later in the game but I'm sure he was tired by then he was closing down all game long. At the end to have the composure to and stamina to run around people he was incredible.

They changed the rules long back, from Semi finals it's a 0 and player will be suspended only if he gets sent off in SF.

Yeah. I remember it was back in 2003, when Nedved got booked in semifinal against Real and was suspended in the final against Milan. I'm pretty sure after that they changed it so that no star players are missing in the final.

They changed it way later actually, after Xabi Alonso missed the Real-Atletico final in 2014.

Dont forget the Chelsea Bayern final.where like 7 players were suspended for accumulation of yellow cards.

The most impressive part is that Walter Samuel .managed to play ever knockout game in 2010 on a yellow and not get suspended
