He completely disappeared in the second half. At some point I even forgot that he's still playing. There is absolutely no issues with him in terms of footballing abilities, but the guy's character is disappointing. He has that grinta, but tends to fade away in particular moments, and I'm not even gonna comment about his whinning stuff.

Barella seriously needs to reflect on himself because he's not even that young anymore. He's one of our key players and already has plenty of experience, so it's time to act like a real man.

Like I said, he is a pure joy to watch when he's on the mood, but his lack of mental consistency has to be something which he needs to work on it.

Well, the club is unstable and that doesn't help at all.

What the fuck is wrong with this guy? Why does he play hide and seek in these important matches? I remember at least 1st Derby della Madonnina and was it Derby d'Italia aswell when he wasn't putting the max effort.

He's our motor. If the motor isn't running, we simply look shit.

Main issue was Mkhitaryan not existing and Darmian, despite being more than solid, isn't the kind of player that will alleviate pressure from Barella.

Even Hakan was trapped for most of the first half and people are raving about him. Rightfully.
We had no presence in the middle of the pitch for like 50 out of 60 minutes till Brozovic came on.

Barella was also used higher up and wide to cause tension to Porto's slow defense because our strikers aren't exactly fast, so he had to receive the ball in awkward - for him - positions and then he was isolated. Should have done better at times, was objectively poor, but I wouldn't put that on bad attitude.

It's just that kind of game. Porto came to stop our midfield from functioning and did pretty well to achieve that. I've never seen Inter throw so many long balls under Inzaghi to the forwards as I've seen in the first half.

Even when he sucks he’s still the lifeblood of the team. Not a vintage performance but I think some people are exaggerating. The cross for the assist was perfect and I also thought he was a bit unlucky with that over the shoulder volley in the 2nd half.

Maybe the tactic was wrong then because we had tremendous troubles getting the ball out of our defence in the buildup phase.

There was a period on the first half where he lost possession 6 times in a row. Also he took 4 shots tonight for some fucking reason and not one of them was on target. Definitely not exaggerating. He was really poor tonight. The assist saves him from a 2/10 rating

Could he be resenting that he's only making €4.5m net a year which makes him only the sixth highest earner in the squad?

I'm not saying this to defend him btw.

He could have bagged earlier assist when he had the ball and Gosens was unmarked clean through goal. Too bad he chose to blast it over the bar :palm:

He was bad even against Udinese. Inzaghi has to bench him for a game.

Meh, too much explanation for nothing. The guy just disappears and refuses to take responsibility once the situation gets tough. Mkhi wasn't around while he had the same issues or whatever. I've been saying for a while now, that as a leader he can't just back off that easy. The way he gives the ball away it's beyond pathetic, I haven't seen someone as weak as him when it becomes a physical duel.

Nicolo has to work on his attitude like big time. Strength doesn't always means that you have to be big/massive. There is plenty of players of his size but still at least with good enough strength to execute the most basic things in football which are holding the ball, winning physical duels and what the fuck ever.

Another example; Gagliardini. The guy has amazing body contruction and height but he's weak as hell. He can't get things done to save his life and is often being outmuscled by smaller guys. I understand aerial duels are another thing because you have to have a great timing on jump, execution and also being a good header, but being very weak generally it's just unacceptable for me.

Still the heart of the team, assist, goal, runs, he is one of the few guys that can make things happen, his role is different when Calhanoglu is playing regista and I think we saw it when Brozovic came on.

We can talk about the missed shots all day but imo he has always been trying those and when they go in or at least hit the target, every body applauds and long shots are a usual good method to try and beat a defence as good as Pepe - Marcano.

I think that Inzaghi or whoever's job it is should have a word with him talking to the referee, to himself, to his teammates all game long, though, just f*cking calm down, ffs.
