Why do goalkeepers get the blame when they conceed a goal at the near post??? The latest example is when Ambrosio was 'at fault' when Morientes scored against him. I thought when a player shoot to the near post he:

1) Reduced his angle.
2) The distance between the player and the goal is nearer than if he shoot to the far post, hence the ball reach the goal faster.

Why???

Well becuase its at the closed angle that the goalkeeper is usually at fault...But i definately dont think that Morientes shot could have been stopped by anyone. It was a blast.
