With a proper coach, this can actually challenge for the Scudetto considering how piss poor the other teams are.

The core of the team should be kept (life would be so easy if we play with a back 4):

(1) Handanovic (if possible for at least one more year, so that we can have one more season to check Bardi)
(2) Hernanes, Kovacic, Icardi, Palacio, Juan should be kept at any cost
(3) Would be great to have Cambiasso in the team with low wage for one more year, so that Nilton/? and him can rotate
(4) Guarin is big question mark and I won't mind him if he is let go for some good $$ - for being Mr. Inconsistent
(5) Jonathan - I have not been impressed with him, even when he had been cheered by others. He is simply an average player and thats it. I even doubt if he is the player if we are to fight for the Europa League places. He seems to be doing well for some coz of Mazzarri's tactic only.
(6) Taider - should be given chance and might do well with a different formation/coach.
(7) Alvarez - Not a big fan of him and he doesn't deserve the raise which has been rumoured. Easily replaceable player.
(8) Botta - Should do well in a 4-3-3 formation. Loan is another option.

It all depends on the coach and formation for me. I don't think that Mazzarri's 3-5-2 is going to work for us.

It will disappoint all of us for sure!The front 3 are too slow and static.Liverpool are playing with a similar system this season but the creativeness and mobility of Suarez,Sturridge and Sterling are not comparable with Hernanes,Icardi and Palacio at all.

If rumours are to be believed, though, we're signing Ince and Erkin (both for free). I dont know where Ince would play in our current line up - as a striker ? but he'd potentially do well in a 4-2-3-1.

I dont think Hamsik Hernanes Cambiasso is a balanced midfield. I think Hamsik and Hernanes are pretty mutually exclusive, tbh.

Definitely couldn't have Hamsik and Hernanes in the same lineup. Especially with Kova

For next season's squad I'd like to see us bring back Laxalt if we intend on playing wingers. His tireless running and ability to also track back would be useful especially late in games. I also think Livaja would have been useful if he hadn't shown himself continually to be an absolute idiot.

I'd like to see something like:

Botta/Laxalt - Icardi or Top quality forward - Palacio/new player
Kova/Ricky - New DM/Taider/Cambiasso - Hernanes/Guarin
Juan Jesus/D'Ambrosio - Rolando/Rano - Vidic/Jesus - New RB/New RB​

I'm hesitant on Laxalt.

I liked him in principle, but his failure to have any real time at Bologna in the second half of this season has to be concerning.


He's played 80 minutes since Xmas :/

That is because Bologna started the season playing with wingers and which he did well including scoring a brace against Milan, but then they changed to playing 3-5-2 and he was tried a a CM for a while, but that isn't his position at all.
