Moratti wants Vieri on the bench

It doesn´t have anything to do with Moratti saying the truth. I agree with what Moratti said. But he should NOT intervene in the team-selection EVER. Mancini can play Carini as the top striker, and still Moratti shouldn´t say anything. He either allow Mancini to do his job as the coach, or sack him and place himself on the bench.

Now Mancini and Zanetti has had to today answer to what Moratti said yesterday. Oh geez, I am so surprised!!!!!!!
I knew it would happen.

But if you consider it a good idea to go out in media to critizise the coach and a player, and to have the entire squad answering to journalists about Vieri and Moratti, then that´s your choice. I personally can´t see anything positive coming out of it. We have a game against Anderlecht to think about, and our coach and players have to answer to what our owner has said.

I agree if Moratti go out and openly critisizes Mancini´s decisions in a particular match or one specific substitution made by the Boss that he should relent from speaking. But this is not such an alarming case here, Jimmy. Not this time, at least. ;)

I'm quite sure that Mancini acknowledge that Bobo isn't on top form and he's going to have to do something about if this continues.
IMO Mancini most likely would have continued to play his friend Vieri instead of more cynical strikers who score more. ;) Hence Moratti might have now done a positive thing for Inter. Because now he made Facchetti say his opinion too that was more moderate saying:

"He might be a bit demoralised about not having scored, seeing as it seemed he might get back in excellent condition after these first few matches. Instead, he hasn't scored and perhaps he has suffered a psychological blow."

Dr. Moratti :)D) is saying after the duo Adriano - Vieri has produced avarage results that (0 goals for Vieri since 4 April 2004 and 6 pts. of 4 Serie A matches) that we can´t turn the other cheek to the problem it is. Now as the owner who invests his own money into the club he has the right to expect something from a star player such as Vieri who for years until the 2003/2004 season began showed his immense capabilities.

The timing of it could have been better since we have a midweek match vs. Anderlecht only 2 days after Moratti´s interview. But even after the Boss´ and the captain´s replies to M. Moratti´s remarks I am satisfied about it. Why you might ask? Because it has started an effect; realising that Vieri is not performing even close to what he can do which I see as good thing for us, the result could very well be that Vieri will play less now...

This only shows how evident the bobo-adriano situation is that even Moratti realised that these 2 cant play together.
I realised the obvious when Adriano joined us and the 2 of them played 3-4 games together.

I guess being Moratti and so investing so heavily in the club + being so passionate about his toy (Inter) - he does have the right to express his opinion in a diplomatic manner ;)

Moratti should keep out of team matters. Let Mancio decide what the team should be and just enjoy wtatching , Moratti. Don't screw things up again.

I agree with Frisko,
channel4.com just made a more dramatic version of Moratti's statement..

moratti simply said that bobo is not in form at the moment and he needs to get his form back... even when it takes some time...

about vieri - adriano partnership... he said..
'they are not working AT THE MOMENT'... and this is due to VIERI NOT BEING ON FORM...

so he pointed out Vieri's form as the main problem.. not because of the characteristics of the two.. (even though he may subconciously said that)

and I like what mancini said about this...

to me, we need everyone to be on form.. and with on form vieri, we simply have the deadlies upfronts in the world...

during palermo game, the comentator said inter bench was the best in the world.... when you benched the like of Javier Zanetti, Emre, Cambiasso, Recoba and Cruz... you cant deny such comment...

Definately. Our team could put out 2 worldclass lineups, each being very strong, full of internationals and great players.
