MORATTI WANTS TO AVOID BIDDING WAR FOR ICARDI
Inter to work in advance with Samp to avoid the risk of cases like that of Sanchez or Paulinho.
Milan - Experience teaches many things. It is like that for everyone and the same applies to Inter. That is why this Mauro Icardi deal is not only for a precise technical project but also it has to be done with the right timing and propulsion. Napoli came forward on the last day of January while Juventus made an inquiry then we have the greatest clubs of Europe that have already been sniffing around to strike a deal. But, Inter have made their moves in advance to prevent other clubs' interest from becoming real problems or even creating a bidding war. The past has taught us a lot in these two different cases: the hesitation on Alexis Sanchez in January of 2011 and when the price tag of Paulinho increases exponentially from 8 million to 20 million (release clause and many other related costs). Inter will need to be astute and have a great timing in order to "reserve" Mauro Icardi before anyone else. For the Sampdoria striker, however, everything still needs to be defined in details.
10 million plus... Inter started to make their move for some time now and have begun working with the player's agents (fully permitted by Sampdoria). Both clubs have excellent relationship and will see each other again at the next Lega meeting. At that point, they will lay down the details of how to acquire Icardi and then the real negotiations with Sampdoria can start. The club in Genoa wants 10 million euros in cash plus one or two players as technical counterparts according to the formula of joint-ownership or loan. Is one of those players Silvestre? Well, the Argentinian was specifically asked by Delio Rossi on the day he was hired. It is clear that this hypothesis is not as hot as before but there is time to talk about it. Of course, Samp would prefer to have younger player like Duncan (now on loan at Livorno) who, however, has great appreciation from Stramaccioni. But naming names now would be premature.
National team The fact remains that the Inter-Icardi pact is there and the football characteristics of the player fit perfectly to the needs of what will be the future of Inter. "Icardi - says Andrea Ranocchia to Sky - is a great player, and if he arrives, he would be an major acquisition." "Icardi - says Walter Gargano -? Great player and if he arrives here he will do well because he has grown so much and has the quality that we need." Those are basically the "welcome" but the decisive one is perhaps linked to his national team with Sabella and Prandelli are waiting. Mauro is leaning towards the Albiceleste but the truth will come out in the next international break in the third week of March. Meanwhile he is Sampdoria player. And then he will be at Inter.
