When there are definite news about him we will. So far there are no confirmations about Ginter and Bayern in Germany. Instead they report Ginter is on the list but they're focused on Rudiger and Christensen.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are no longer in the race for the 28-year-old who looks to be bound for Bayern.

Bayern Munich Have Slowed Their Interest In BMG’s Matthias Ginter​

Bayern Munich have not yet secured the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter which could give Inter an opportunity, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Matthias Ginter will be out of contract with Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer and will be leaving the club.
For many weeks it has looked likely that he would be the replacement for Niklas Sule at Bayern Munich but they are yet to finalise the deal for the German centre back.

This has made the player question whether the German champions really want him or not. That gives Inter a clear opportunity to make him an offer and show that they will value his services for the team.

His main desire is to play in the Champions League and play regularly enough that he can stay in the German national team and compete for trophies.

There's no change of heart from Bayern about Ginter. Ginter had always been a backup plan for Bayern as they were focused on their top targets (Rudiger, Christensen, lately Bremer). It's just Italian media had rushed to call it a done deal because rumors about Inter had stopped.

Free agent Matthias Ginter denies he has already agreed terms with Bayern Munich and leaves the door open for Inter. ‘I have offers from abroad.’

The 28-year-old centre-back is on the market, as his current contract with Borussia Monchengladbach will expire on June 30.

He has rejected an extension and there were reports over the last few days that Bayern Munich had already snapped him up for next season.

“To be honest, I don’t know where these rumours come from suggesting I have already decided on a transfer to Bayern Munich,” Ginter told Redaktions Netzwerk Deutschland.

“I have not yet made a decision on my future, and it will probably take a few more weeks before it happens.

“There are a few different options, and I have offers from abroad too, so I am curious to see what will happen next.”

Ginter was part of the Germany squad that won the 2014 World Cup, even though he did not actually participate in the tournament.

The 28-year-old defender has made 27 appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach so far this season, scoring one goal.

At the time it did as both Italian and German sources considered Inter as his most likely destination and the management had a meeting with his agent. The links have cooled down now as we seem more focused on Bremer. Once there's something definite about Ginter's future we will close the thread.
