Unexplainable for someone I would consider to be an effort player to be flat out beaten to the end line by Matuidi. Matuidi had no business beating him to that ball, at the very least he should have just conceded a corner. That type of stuff from a guy who literally brings nothing else to the table in terms of quality is just unforgivable.

Matuidi had a shot in the first half that forced a good save from handa, which came from vecino just not tracking him at all. Got to think of we had a proper DM, like a matic, we would never see this guy again and it would free up our other midfielders

Yup, a DM would allow us to play Eriksen in the 3 and move Brozovic or Barella to that other spot so their tackling is a bonus and not what we live and die by.

Useless, as usual, I'm sick and tired of seeing him on the field, obviously contributing less than nothing, harming the team in the process... Sigh.

What he brings to the team is unbalance, midfield is the heart of every team and he is just lost on the field and lacking that
football inteligence that midfielder must have. And I will always wonder would it be so much worse for our performance to put Eriksen instead, or even Borja, can they make it more worse defensively.

Anyway if Conte strives for physicality I would rather see Skriniar play in midfield instead Vecino, and put Godin or Dambro at CB. Skriniar played whole life midfielder, he switched to defender role 4 or 5 years ago.

Oh that last 10 minutes were proper comedy show from us. Conte went mental:chan:

I still do not know what was that formation and what we were trying to play, probably players did not know either:blind:

Pretty sure Vecino was playing on the right side of a midfield diamond towards the end.

Once Gagliardini came in we switched to 4312:

Handanovic
Skriniar de Vrij Bastoni Young
Vecino Brozovic Gagliardini
Eriksen
Lautaro Sanchez

Even when playing our standard 352 though, our CM's usually drift very wide to support the WB and forwards anyway.

Either way, Vecino was the least of our problems last night. This loss (and our recent losing streak for that matter) is about 95% on Conte. Yeah, there are some things Conte can't account for, like ludicrous individual mistakes, but he's setting the team up to fail right now.

Anyone blaming Vecino for yesterday's loss is an idiot. We had two shots on goal 70 minutes into the match. We could have played against Juve for 180 minutes yesterday and we still wouldn't have scored with the set up Conte had.

You can't blame Vecino for being who he is. A completely average player.

You look at the people who brougt him here.

I stopped blaming Vecino until Conte subbed Eriksen for Barella instead of him when it’s clear Vecino was the worse player.

We were outplaying most of the time before the first goal. He had to do better against Matuidi and block that low cross. We were likely to hold on for 0-0 until 75', then Conte would field Eriksen and Sanchez to pull the win.

So Eriksen would have marked Matuidi's runs then?

We required numerous fantastic saves from Handanovic in the first half. We had one attempt on goal. Tell me more about how we were outplaying them.

No. But neither did Vecino. So the question becomes - since Vecino doesn't bring anything defensively, what is he actually bringing from an offensive perspective that makes playing him instead of Eriksen make sense?

Vecino can't pass, shoot, win tackles, or play a good tactical game defensively. Unless you believe that Vecino offers better passing and creativity than Eriksen.

Sometimes I wonder how big of a football player I would've become if I just focused on football instead.

This thought only comes to me when I watch Vecino.

Vecino: 'Brozo best player at Inter'

Uruguay international Matias Vecino has claimed Marcelo Brozovic is the best player at Inter and revealed Borja Valero is his closest friend at San Siro.

The 28-year-old has appeared 18 times in Serie A this term and has been challenged by the arrival of Stefano Sensi and Nicolò Barella last summer, but it’s not the new stars that are mentioned when Vecino is asked who is the best player at Inter.

“Marcelo is, for me, the best player we have in the squad,” he wrote on Twitter. “From the outside, you might get an image that is different from the reality. Marcelo is a special guy.”

Vecino left Fiorentina in August 2017 a month after Borja Valero had moved from Florence to Milan and revealed they are sharing a room when on duty with the Nerazzurri.

The Uruguayan midfielder joked that he has been carrying the 35-year-old with him wherever he goes since he arrived in Italy.

“Since I came to Italy, I carry him with me,” he joked. “We played together at Fiorentina and then here.

“He’s the teammate whom I shared most moments with. He lives close by and we also share a room together.

Hopefully nobody will have to find a new room-mate for Vecino once Borja`s contract expires. :trolldad:

Of course Brozo is the best player. He has been covering Vecino’s ass for 3 years.

FcInterNews today: Valencia are interested in signing Inter midfielder Matias Vecino :slick:

The report details how the Nerazzurri are happy to sell the 28-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2022.

In the January transfer window, he was linked with a move to Everton, but the Premier League side didn’t offer the requested €30 million. In the summer multiple clubs are expected to come in for him from both the Premier League and the Bundesliga.

Valencia are particularly interested in signing Vecino, the report continues, and want to take advantage of their excellent relationship with the player’s agent Alessandro Lucci, who also managed the deal that saw Alessandro Florenzi join the side on loan. The player is willing to consider a move away. :boogy:
