Report: Kovacic close to Madrid

Reports suggest Inter's Mateo Kovacic is virtually a Real Madrid player, with the move down the final details.

The Croatian playmaker has been consistently linked with a move away from San Siro this summer, with Liverpool thought to be in the running.

Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting, however, that Real Madrid have moved in over the weekend and are very close to completing a deal for the Nerazzurri man.

The newspaper believes the two clubs are working out the final details of a transfer, which would be worth between €30m and €35m. Sky puts the potential agreement at €35m plus bonuses.

Kovacic is believed to have expressed his willingness to join Los Merengues, and the move is almost complete.
