Reading Pirlo's biography, he has this extra motivation to play for his national side, guess it's the same for Balotelli.

It's almost all Prandelli that keeps him in check.

It has NOTHING to do with Prandelli. He has had good disciplinary managers in his career and none have been able to tame him. Prandelli has nothing to do with Mario's will to perform for the national team. He performs because as he said numerous times he sees playing for the Azzurri as the highest honor, and wants a World Cup more than any club trophy. If Balotelli wanted to get his shit together and play the same way for a club he could, but he can't stay focused for 8 months like he can a couple of weeks for a national team competition.

You're either stupid or don't know much about the Italian national team. Maybe both.

Prandelli motivates him and keeps him tame by speaking well about him to the public and defending him constantly, and it's more than well known that they have a great relationship. I would go as far to say that Prandelli is nearly a father-like figure for him. Sure he performs well and acts like a professional for the Azzurri, but hasn't done much at club level for him to be picked consistently by Prandelli, which again shows his trust him in and he's reassured that if he doesn't act out with his clubs than he will get called up once again. He's pretty much got the guy in a collar. No other manager would have such a good relationship with Balo. He's even given him the captain's armband before to cool him down after a game with racist chants geared towards him.

And who exactly do you think are "good disciplinary managers"? Definitely not Mourinho, Allegri, or Mancini. Seedorf?

I assure you I'm far from stupid. He who is angered first is usually the one who lacks intelligence....

I asssure you Balotelli's performance has 90% to do with the fact the actually gives a shit when he puts on an Italy shirt, 5% the fact there are actual leaders on Italy and maybe 5% Prandelli being some awesome man manager. You need to realize that as a national team manager your job is entirely different from that of a club manager. Prandelli manages Balotelli for a small fraction of his playing career, primarily when big tournaments are under way. Compare that to a coach who must work with him everyday over the course of a season, and you wonder why he's more likely to run into problems with his club coach, as he had EVERYWHERE. Exception being Seedorf who again only had him for a short time. The only person who can control Mario is Mario, it's not Prandelli he is just a babysitter who picks the best players from the Italy talent pool and tries to mold them into a team.

Let me get this right though, do you actually believe that if Prandelli coached AC Milan this year that Balotelli would play the way he does for Italy?

Marios scored 14 goals and 6 assists in 25 games. How is that bad?

Its my personal belief that Mario simply gets bored. You mix it up with the national team and its different for short enough a time that he stays interested, but when at Milan (for example) or Inter, he just gets bored and moves on to focus on something else

Prandelli does what he needs to do with Mario.

Mancini is a complete idiot, and Mourinho is also not the right man to guide young players as he doesnt do long term plans. And then there is Ac milan, mess of a club with a mess coaches... Thats why I said, mark my words, if Balo somehow ends at Arsenal, or any club that has head and tail, and a normal coach, he will become a superstar player, cause he is a top, top class talent

I don't think Balo especially gives a toss about Prandelli, it's just that there are so few national team games that he is more focused when they come round.

Or maybe he really loves Italy and tries his best something exact opposite of English players.

I mean his work rate is more or less the same but at least he doesn't do silly things with NT as often as he does for Club.

Three of which have more impressive CV than Prandelli by the way, just throwing that out there.
