This. So many minutes this season without rotation other than that one suspension game. He burned out, it's unfair to blame him, he runs his ass off every game.

Him openly being smug and dismissive about the lack of support from his teammates is understandable, but also utterly unprofessional.

Both of them, Brozovic in particular, run obscene amounts every game. Brozovic is always in the top 3 players in avg/total distance covered, distance covered per minute etc. That isn't the problem.

"You need to be at 100% for 90 minutes every single game because everyone else sucks and without you it all falls to shit". Stressful working conditions. We're not helping him, or any of our other players with this lack of midfield coordination.

I'm not saying that he has to be at the highest level for every minute or every match. I'm just saying he has to play like he has done for the past couple of seasons in overall because lately he has been kind of shaky big time and that is a bit worrying.

I don't want him alone to save the world but my point is related to his decisions and awful errors which he committed way too much lately. And yes I have kept saying that he deserves better players around him because he has shown that he can be a great asset to our team, as he is already for Croatian NT.

I agree with your generall point but past couple of seasons? He started playing well on a consistent level in the beginning of last feb so he jet has to play an entire season on a high level.

Next time you see brozovic miss a pass, pause the game...rewind it back to the point of his touch, pause again and see that his options are mostly bad or covered by opposition. I hate to pin failure on one specific player, but Vecino plays in a position that requires serious on/off the ball skills and his positioning hurts us just as badly as his decision making with the ball.

Agreed. He has no options on the ball most of the time. See how even Cagliari's midfielders constantly made themselves an outlet for a passing option, allowing them to dismantle our high press with embarrassing ease. Compare that to our trash midfield - both in terms of personnel and coaching directives.

That said, Brozovic has also been guilty of some inexcusable and inexplicable turnovers caused by momentary lapses in concentration or a poor touch etc. those are on him and him alone.

That's clear to me even as resident Brozovic fan on the forum. They must both improve. But I really believe the issue I mentioned in my first sentence of my post is a far bigger problem.

Brozovic needs a defensive partner that plays their position. Vecino/Gagliardini are not them. If Borja was younger he'd be fine as they are similar players.
Barella is exactly the type of player we need, the only issue is, we won't win many balls in the air in the midfield.

That's why we should drop Radja low in pivot with Brozo and makeshift an ACM with either Joao Mario or Politano when Keita is back and can play on the wing. We lose Radja's attacking contributions but we would gain so much midfield stability that I think it would be a good trade-off.
