INTER 2009/10 !
Well well well.. Finally the truth comes out.. 12 years later..

And for all the people that thought Ronaldo is a traitor, in your face!

Moratti confirmed that he though Ronaldo wasn't the same player after 2002. and that they were gauging interest in his last season and wanted to sell him!

Yes Moratti, you chose Cuper of Ronaldo!!!! Thanks a lot!

"Leonardo said on one occasion that the ideal team needs a president like Massimo Moratti and a director like Adriano Galliani. Ronaldo agrees: “I agree with Leonardo, I have worked with both of them and I can say that they are great leaders. For me, however, Moratti more like a father.” - Ronaldo

"Ronaldo, working as a pundit for Sky Italia, gave his thoughts on those pictures and said he's often thought back to the day you chose Hector Cuper over him. Have you gone back over that in your mind?

"I must say people rewrite history to suit themselves. No, Ronaldo had an offer from Real Madrid and he wanted to go there. He'd been in the headlines so much in his last year here that we thought it might be a chance for us to go our separate ways, but it wasn't a case of Cuper over Ronaldo. Ronaldo wanted to leave and I thought it was the right move because he was no longer the same player and he had a new opportunity. Ronaldo knows that. Anyway, he's a lovely man and I thank him for what he said yesterday."" - Moratti

Who is a traitor now?!?!? Moratti betrayed Ronaldo! R9 was forced out of Inter! The truth is finally out!

Boy, you really fucked it big with your prediction.. Ronaldo scored 83 goals in 127 games for RM. How's that for a finished player?? Damn!

After 8 years arguing with people on this board over Ronaldo, I finally rest my case..

Don't take that out of the context.. And the context is: Ronaldo wanted to leave if we choose to keep Cuper instead. It was a perfect scenario for our FO to have an excuse for selling him.. (Like, he thinks he is above Inter, he doesn't respect coach, bla, bla..)

It's simple.. You can't choose some Cuper over arguably the best player in history of football at 25 years of age. You can't!

So what if we had brought in someone to replace Cuper and Ronaldo didn't get on with him, we would have to sack him too right?

In summary:
He wanted to leave.
An offer came in from Real
The view of the president at the time was that he wasn't the same (it's all good looking back in hindsight but he was the man in charge and made a call based on all the info he had).
Finally he didn't want to play with Cuper in charge.

All good reasons to sell at the time.

Ronaldo didn't want Inter in the first place...

The context you're talking about doesn't seem to exist in the truth you've posted with Moratti's quote.

He specifically denied the exclusive selection between Cuper and Ronaldo. And his reason for selling Ronaldo was simply his evaluation of Ronaldo's future with Inter, which was obviously fallacious as Ronaldo himself proved with his goal scoring record with Madrid.

But one of the more important reasons is probably Ronaldo's own will, it'd be difficult to sell him if he wanted to stay and rejected all the incoming offers.

Also, if Ronaldo stayed in a championship ruled by rube's leaders, he would have been tackled and injured over and over again, with no protection whatsoever, and just make me/us lose my/our nerves.

I still lose it when i see the vid where he gets tko-ed in rubes box and the referee in fear say move on... alksdj;alskdjalskdja;

It was better for him to leave from serie a.

The more I think about it the more I start to share this point of view about this issue. Anyways, I will always be grateful to Ronaldo for making me fall in love with Inter an the sport of football at 8 years old.
