He step-overed 3 Juve defenders before unleashing a rocket past Buffon.

What a very weird dream by me. :| (Yes, a dream, a real dream, not a wish or fantasy but a dream, the thing you experience when you sleep)

If it means he retires this season, make him Asst. Manager I dont care, but I really dont want Figo to play on now.

He was slow as fuck against Palermo. His decision making abilities are not as quick whipped as they used to...and so crosses don't come through as smooth with decent timing anymore.

He is 36 years old, what else do you expect from a player with that age?

I can't believe there is so many lack of respect to most of our players. It's a real shame to see....this is not only towards you, but mainly on this forum.

Figo has done great things for us. Ofcourse he didn't continue one more season thinking that he would play often and be very important in most matches. The real reason is that Figo has a great personality. He is very important on trainings, in the dressing room, outside the fields with the other players. He is an example for our young talents. You can't underestimate his importance.

I am glad he stayed at Inter. He has a great personality, he is loved by many important people and that gives Inter even a better name. I am pretty sure Figo will stop soccer next year to start working for Inter, he will be an important face for Inter on important meetings, just like Moratti has promised a year ago. He is part of the positive image that Inter has, with Zanetti, Facchetti, Moratti etc.

I want to see more respect for our players, and really for special players.

I thought I was clear in my last post. You can't have a team without any image, without any maturity, without anyone where youngsters can learn from.
Figo can become an important person for our club, so why should anyone send him away? I think the real Interisti have shown how happy they were that he stayed 1 year ago. He is important. He continued because he is important in our team, specially with his mouth and image. It seems like noone has any idea of this? Does everybody here want only young talents, like they have in FIFA 09? Perhaps we should let Zanetti and Toldo stop too, they are getting old and we are not Milan.....

OK, I'm sorry I didn't have the time to explain it further.

People like Figo did not really do anything special for us. He was only useful in 05/06 and a little bit more in 06/07. But that's about it.

Him and J.Zanetti & Toldo are absolutely incomparable. Players like JZ or Cordoba has been with us through thick & thin since the beginning of their careers and it's them who deserves any special treatment.

But Figo or Vieira, these players have not been with us long enough for them to warrant staying with us until the end of their career. I understand your point of view but we can't treat every player that way. We have to be selective in order to not get stuck in a rut like Milan is in. And besides, the youngsters doesn't need lessons from 20 'matured' players. A few will do.

Ever since that incident on the side-line with R.Mancini against Liverpool I lost respect for him and I don't care what the situation was... At his age he should of been more professional. Refusing to come on the pitch is a sin. Fuck him...

we kept the old hag mainly because of Moratti but could have signed 2 decent players since 06 on his wages

Well, there is no doubt he is not going to be on the roster next season. Having him in coaching role is okay to me

Class post. Bolded part is important. Figo has never been a superstar with this club. He has been useful couple of seasons yes, but he was never starting material (even if he started many games). Way too many mistakes aren't compensated by his great passes and assists.

Figo should have left already two years ago, but some-fucking-how he's still here. I'd go nuts if he stayed for yet another season.

Thanks Cafe. And agreed with the part that Figo should have left in 2007. He should have went out on a high. But I guess things like this are kinda like investing in the stock market. Even when your head tells you that you should cash in on your profit, your hearts doesn't wanna let go of it and you end up regretting it later.

Nope its not. With Figo it was like keeping your Enron shares, knowing that the scandal would erupt in 2 days, and drag the value down from $80 to $0.01. It didnt make any sense at all.!!!

Players like Figo show our pathetic mentality. He wasnt even good enough for Il-ittihad, but we decided to give him an extension, just becasue he is a big name player. And then gave him another extension, so Mourinho wont feel homesick.
We had to stop giving these so called big name douchebags such big contracts. Players like Figo and Vieira should have never been here. We just got them to raise our value, cause they keep from a better league and more succesful teams, and then we laugh at Milan for getting Ronnie and Beckham.

I dont want him any where near the club next season. After the disrespect he showed to us last year, we should throw him out as far as we can. Hire him as a Portugese scout? no thanks, firstly Portugese players hardly work in SERIEA, secondly, there really arent that many good Portugese players coming through these days.

Besides he was one of the most important players 2 seasons ago, with most assist....he hasn't been very important during matches indeed. But he has been also important as person in the last 2 years. Besides players like Toldo etc has shown their worth on the pitch, but for Figo it was a bit impossible because of his age.

That doesn't take way that for Figo there is still much future at Inter for him. He might become an assistent, so he still can do important work for Inter in the future. That's just why he earns more respect, and it should be shown here too. Dont only judge the 36 old player...

He was good enough for Il-ittihad...It's not like the Saudi League is filled with great talents, in fact Mirel Radoi who we were rumored to get early in the plays for Al-Hilal currently and if you see the guy you'd think he's Steven Gerrard.....It's just that there were some things that were stated in the contract that Mr.Mansour Al-Balawi did not follow up on and commit to such as housing and what not...

It's just that the Saudi League politics in general is a bunch of shit show, which is why big name owners such as Mansour Al-Balawi end up being fired from their positions by princes due to them trying to steal a player (Mohammed Kallon fiasco where he was supposed to sign for Al-Hilal only for Al-Balawi to bring his private jet and fly him to Jeddah to sign for Al-Ittihad), and the problem with Cosmin the Romanian coach who brought Al-Hilal to greatness only to be fired for a dumb reason like putting a shirt that has the prince's face on the bleechers..

My main point is had Figo joined Al-Ittihad 2 years ago I can assure you he would have been top assist man and probably up there on the top scoring chart but the Saudi's couldn't commit to the contract..

In facht, Moratti and the Inter fans convinced Figo to stay at Inter. I remember them shouting trough Giuseppe Meazza that Figo had to stay. They were standing with banners around the tranings of Inter with on it: Figo, please stay with us. I thought it was his own choice to stay, build on the question of Moratti, the players and the fans to stay.

Did Miha represent inter in any way during his player/Assistant days? or did Favalli and Ronaldo represent milan?

People will remember the clubs which players had their prime at. In the same sense, people will remember RM/Barca when Figo is mentioned.

Besides the fact that Figo mentioned about not returning to football once he retires, I hope our youngsters don't learn to do more 'business' with clubs than being devoted (Juve/Parma, Barca/Real). He won't be representing inter the same way JZ, Cordoba, Materazzi and Toldo does.

I like him as a player who once was a world class, and it'd be great if he can convince some portugese to join inter, but he doesn't come even close to JZ or Fachetti when it is about representing the club.

Figo will be representating Inter in another point of view. Please stop comparing him to others. Don't mind his other teams, because he might will be remembered at other teams as well, but as long as he works for Inter and the Interisti remember him as an Inter man, it's fine by me. I don't care much what others think.

That he will representate Inter at meetings etc has been said by Moratti once, I'm sure about it. It was about important meetings etc, but I don't think I can still find it. I thought it was about 2 years ago when it has been said.

Like I said, 3-4 of such players are enough. J.Zanetti, Cordoba, Toldo, Stankovic, Cambiasso, Materazzi; they all fit your description and Figo is EXCESS baggage.

It was world peace or starvation or something along the line.
Other than that, Moratti said he hoped Figo does represent inter one day, but he also said the same to Baggio, Zenga and Klinsman/Matheus (one of them, cant rmember which)
