Anyone know how this guy's doing? Do we have an option on him?

He's started every league game and is the only player at Bremen to do so. Of the games I've seen he's been pretty good. He reads the game well. His passing is pretty bad though

Hmm that's pretty interesting about the passing, because I was reading through the previous couple pages and found this

He's made some very critical tackles, and his passing is very strong.

I've seen him on about 4 occasions for Bremen + during the U21 euro championships. I think his passing out of the defense is pretty suspect. I don't think it's a technique thing, but rather a composure on the ball issue.

Keep in mind I was commentating on his debut match against Ajax in a friendly, so it wasn't an overall evaluation

What I like about Caldirola is how he fits into the modern CB role; capable of playing as a ball playing CB, but also capable of playing as a pure destroyer

Caldirola was in a sweeper role with the Italy u21 NT, but now he's fitted into a ball playing role with Bremen. At times he tries too many long balls from the back, which is generally uncharacteristic of what I saw of him with Brescia and the Italy NT

Keep in mind that he transferred to Germany as a replacement for Sokratis, who moved to Borussia Dortmund over the summer (and has arguably been their best CB so far in the season)

Caldirola: "I know nothing about my return to Inter"
Interviewed by TMW Radio, Luca Caldirola commented the rumors linking him with a return to Inter: "Honestly I know nothing about it, I feel good in Germany, I got acclimatized very well with my family. If some offers would come me aand my club will consider them. In Italy for a young player is difficult to get continuity, you need some rules to make them play. In germany if you come from the Youth Academy and are ready, you play with the first team".

Newly promoted Benevento were smart enough to sign Luca Caldirola on a free transfer on Jan 30, 2019 from SV Werder Bremen.

He captained his team and scored 2 goals in his 1st Serie A match against Sampdoria:

PS: Candreva made a perfect assist :D
