I continue to say he did his job (scored 23 goals) in a shorter period, when it was needed. He scored against Atalanta that great goal, that was his last goal in the title race, but we had practically won it after that match already. Only thing you can argue is the two CL matches where he didn't score, other than that, he did enough for our title race. I mean, he lead the the team as captain to the 2nd star Scudetto, clinching it in a derby. To me those last 3 months are irrelevant. We didn't need his goals anymore.

Anyway, Lautaro is so much more than just scoring goals.

He is just entering his prime with age 27 season coming. Perišić and Brozović are greatest example. They was nowhere near earlier in their career what they was later for us (world class seasons). Especially Perišić.

If we don't give him 9-10 now it could be very possible next season he will be worth 12+.

I think this is genuinely a good argument. He’s growing exponentially season on season, despite his more frustrating characteristics.

Sounds good on paper potentially but I’d worry greed would factor in and he’d shoot in situations where the pass option is the best course of action.
