The facts are that we are selling almost every season some key player, because we have to do it. The management also mentioned that we shall reduce the salaries.
I haven't seen that our finances are significantly improved lately, so it's quite normal one to assume that giving 10 mln to Lautaro will have an impact on our budget, and will lead to some other sacrifices.
The other issue with giving him 10 mln is that the rest of the starters will start asking for the same (or close) salaries as well.
for me it depends on the structure

if its structured around competition performance and participation e.g just as an example, 6m base, +1m for CL group stages, +1m for serie a top 2, +1m for CL QF, +1m for CL SF, +1m for scudetto, whatever, then its fine, because his salary is directly linked to our revenue

I wish all of our key starters would be structured this way too, its not really that revolutionary - many clubs have salary cuts mandated in contract for when they get relegated, for example

Lovely discussion, when Inter hasn't won anything yet. It's really all in Lautaro court pay the freight or he walks. By the way since Stevie is nonexistent sell that car.

That is not true. The last rumors about Lukaku were, that he will reduce his salary between 6.5-7.5mln, which with GHD applied would have been less than 12 mln gross per season. Lautaro's will be 20mln gross.
Okay I stand corrected, but it was actually 8.5m but convenient of you leaving the fact that growth decree would only last for a year out of his 4 years contract. 3m extra for a much better and younger player, let alone your captain is nothing.

Nonsense, the management wanted to renew his contract, thus the conversation. If Lautaro had said let's wait until the end of the season until we negotiate, you people would probably cry about how he's not captain material either hanging the management dry. Fucking Vlahovic gets paid 9m+bonus ffs, I wouldn't mind Lautaro giving that ~10m as he's shown over the years that he's always improving.

Stop being naive, just because he's our captain and legend doesn't mean he should bend over.
Yeaa, why Vlahovic, he should ask like Ronaldo or Messi's wage, cz he's the best player right now. He just wasted a golden chance 10 minutes ago, give him 20ml.

This match smells like a loss or a draw at best.

I mean it is funny how he only scored two goals in CL so far this season. For a free flowing, free scoring side like Inter, Lautaro really doesn't have good enough numbers in Europe

even outside of this season. His Inter record is 15 in 50, where 8 of those appearances and 3 goals were in the europa league, so in the CL he's 12 in 42.

His only acceptable CL campaign came before covid. Most he's scored since then in one season was three in THIRTEEN last year.

he played in 3 failed seasons, which was like 50 minutes total in his first, and one heavily rotated one where he still managed to be the top scorer of the team with just 3 starts....

He had good looks but mostly from headers except that one 1v1ish chance where he really should have scored and he usually does score those where someone is on him and he has little window to do anything but oh well he missed and thankfully the cunt took care of the rebound.

Arna saved his ass there for not passing it to Dumfries.

Lautaro had an okay game. I thought he did great in the chance where Arna scored.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say his form against the truly top teams (outside of Italy) is a bit worrying. Unfortunately he looks either low on confidence or a bit too slow in the biggest moments.

The first big chance there is no way Lautaro doesn’t take that first time if he’s playing against Lecce for example. In the big game he takes and extra touch and then miss hits it. Same with the eventual Arnautovic goal. He missed to massive opportunities in this match. Missing one is “ok” however missing both in the manner he did is not acceptable for a world class player.

I will give him credit for his hold up play today. He did really well with his back to goal winning fouls. Arna overall actually played better than him in the second half though. Despite his absolute shit finishing.

Ffs let's not make a big deal out of it. Even greater strikers than him have missed far more crucial moments in their careers. Lautaro was never known for being the most clinical out there. He pulled incredible numbers this season, but that doesn't mean he has to score every match two goals or more. He's actually been good in overall, but it was not his day.

He scored in 4 out of 5 toughest fixtures we had in CL last years.
Real Madrid away, Barcelona away, Liverpool away and Milan 2nd semi. Only failed to score in the CL final.

Why do people expect 15 CL goals per season from the guy? Who from Inter does that? Who generay does that? He scores when it matters and the team isn't worse off when he doesn't because he works his ass off!
