Lautaro Martínez is the first player to score in three consecutive Champions League appearances for Inter since Samuel Eto’o in 2010.

Martinez was asked about his idol and he immediately said: "I've always said that I admire Falcao since I was a kid, I identify with him the way he plays and his characteristics."

Glad he's consistently showing us what he's capable of, always knew he had it in him to mix those one touches and flicks with his small build and strength and turn out to be a great player (one out of 100 player prediction has to come true, amirite?) and he truly has been great for us lately.

I'm not sure if I recall correctly but one instance that demonstrates what I love about this guy and his creativity/quick thinking/execution (and at the same time while lots dislike him when it fails) is we're on a quick counter the ball falls to him awkardly just ahead of the half way line and he instinctively launches the ball by thumbing it from underneath (I think after controlling it with his chest or something) to the right wing. What a beautiful and extremely efficient pass.

Great player. But I fully support any ref who wants to slap him. We were in good position twice vs Borussia when he decided to roll over and lose possession. His wincing and fake cries can be really embarassing to watch. Just gotta learn when it's time to play act, because sadly, it is a skill.

Referees have been wise to his ruse since that comically bad (yet successful) flop in Frankfurt last season. Frankly, I was glad that he drew the penalty call against Bologna - correct as it was - because he was playing for contact and it definitely could've looked like a dive at first glance if you were letting his reputation cloud your judgment at all.

Consider my judgement clouded. No one ever read Toro the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

If he continues being such a beast for the whole season, you can bet Barcelona will come knocking to his door next summer (or spring) to replace Suarez.

At minimum, we need to double his release clause to have leverage if Barcelona can turn Lautaro's mind.

Sounds like Michael Owen's quotes a la "Whichever team scores more goals usually wins"
I am kidding bro ;)

I wonder if Conte sucks off this little beast daily, because he fucking should... bringing in vital goals, assists every game.

The potential was already there, Milito saw it, Spalletti saw it, Conte knew about it before coming here.

I hope he continues in this form. I wish we had somebody similar to Dybala to make some magic together.

Also apparently he is returning to Milano, (fake) injury.

It's fucking shit if he's already injured, we simply don't have depth anymore in FW.

And I don't believe for a second that he'd fake an injury to avoid international duty, the competition in the forward department of Argentina is crazy and missing one game may mean that he's going to miss all the other games in the future. It's actually more likely that he'd fake an injury here to be fit for NT.

Spaletti saw it but made absolutely no effort to harness it because he was a tactless coward cunt that was in love with Borja Valero.

Apparently it is to do with the clash of heads. He most likely has concussion.

Definitely Inter needs to be extremely greedy and place a heavy signing fee on Lautaro. But he is one player whose price will continue to rise for two or three seasons. With his strong motivation and skill and Conte's guidance, he will most likely turn into an unstopable beast.

Reading this my first thought was that it can't be fake, it'd be pretty ludicrous for a salaried professional athlete to fake an injury in order to avoid playing.

... and then I remembered you-know-who :palm:

I am sure that the player you are referring to was in fact actually injured. It is my understanding that he was suffering from hurt pride.

Faking or exaggerating an injury to stay away from NT duties (for club reasons) is not a new thing.

It may not be a new thing but that does not make it acceptable. Especially from a player that was our Captain, meant to be a model professional, the leader of his peers and the face of our club.
