There are so many diverse cultures in this forum. It would be interesting to know the vast array of languages that members on the forums know.

I speak Arabic and English fluently, and know French to some extent, but not fully fluent.

As for languages I would like to speak, they are in order: German, Swahili, and Italian for the sake of Inter.

I speak English (obviously), French and Creole.

Languages that i'd like to learn consist of Spanish (in Florida, there are more spanish speaking people then english), Italian (for the sake of footy and Inter) and then Portuguese (for the Brazilian chicks). ;)

What's Creole? Is it the mixed people in the islands? If so, is it a separate language?

If you speak French, you are half way to knowing Italian, spanish and Portuguese :D

I can speak English & Chinese fluently, as well as a couple of Chinese dialects (not Cantonese though).

My Italian comprehension is limited to reading and a bit of listening. My speaking is the poorest of the 3.

I can also speak, read and understand Japanese at intermediate level.

Obviously i'd love to perfect the latter 2 languages, but i think i'm more inclined to improve my Japanese before i do my Italian. :p

I'd like to learn Korean, Serbo-Croat and French one day. Maybe in a long time from now. :D

Ciao,
Tim

Hmm, I just checked it up, and it's actually a term used mainly for people that are of mixed Portuguese/Spanish and native/african descent.

True, but it also applies to countries in South America and the phillipines as well. When you said Madagascar and Mauritius, I thought it was only restricted to the african islands :D

I actually knew a guy from Mauritius once, damn good soccer player. But he was of indian descent, and he only spoke French. And he used to describe how beautiful his country is.

Damn, I really want to visit those islands once, specially Zanzibar and Madagascar :hopefull:

Fiji is gorgeous as well, it has the same image like Madagascar, Zanzibar etc. Is it very far from Australia?

I speak fluent Finnish and English and decent Swedish and German. I`d like to be fluent in Spanish which I studied for a while and of course my Italian could be better.

I speak fluent Danish
I also speak German "not very well though, actually I can read and understand everything but when it comes to speaking it then I'm very poor. Besides I hate that language, it sounds awefull. It's simply the worste language that exist" I also speak English.
My plan is to learn Italian in the near future.
