Here, some pics of the Viking flag.

Anyway, i can't seem to find any more pictures of the Viking flag from the last couple of seasons. In fact, i don't remember seeing it in the stadio anymore. My guess is the flag was either retired, or was used for fire fuel. ;)

I hope Ashkan had some action. Maybe he threw a couple of flares too? :D

What's odd is that Fabio, Roberto, myself and a couple others have just recently started talking about Curva Nord when this happened.

Catanha, those guys are not from the Curva, they are highly critical of what CN did, to put it mildly.

For all those people who are pro CN:

Please add this to your signature, as it will symbolise that the Interisti will stand together in these hard times, and won't let this incident part them!

"Our violence might have been wrong
But we just waited too freaking long
You can t just keep fucking with the fans
We’ll fuck you up and make you dance
Forza Inter per sempre and the Curva Nord
I will keep supporting you, you don’t get me bored"

La vergogna di milano siete voi, siete voi, siete voi
(You are the shame of milano)

This, you could hear from Curva Sud after the first few flares were thrown into the pitch. Whether I agree with it or not is not relevant.

Due to various reasons I unfortunately did not manage to get into Curva Nord. Me and couple of friends were seated 3-4 section to the right of Curva Sud. Also mainly due to the outcome of the game it wasn’t a pleasant trip. And by the outcome I mean the result and not the action taken by a minority group of Curva Nord.

I’m sure people have discussed the game itself and the tactics enough on this board so I’ll try and tell you more about the CN incident.

IMO media due to # of copies sold have yet again exaggerated about a single event. Beside the Dida incident no one got injured. After all unlike Gobbi supporters behaviour yesterday - CN’s did not have any intention what so ever to injure anyone. It is important to distinguish that. Also the were no crowd trouble among the fans (inside & outside the stadium).
Dida (aka superman called for the night by many interisti) was not hit instantly. Meaning he had all the time in the world to move away from the scene. Instead of scrolling around and picking up the flares – looking at Curva he should have moved his butt and joined the rest of the players further away. He had all the time in the world to do so. Had he done so media would have had a harder time judging Curva’s action and making a big meal out the whole incident. Most importantly he would have avoided putting his health at risk. Everyone who have visited a game of calico knows that flare throwing is a pretty common thing. I’m sure some would argue that this time we over did it! Sure, I agree. However I’m confident that if Dida would have reacted in a right and more logical manner this whole incident would not have got this much writing space in various media. Hence a less hefty punishment from UEFA.

As we all know this incident wasn’t about this game only! The boiling over was a mixture of many years various negative factors which had added up and just reached a boiling point. The ref was terrible, we weren’t given a penalty, Sheva’s stupid action was left unpunished and looking at the tape version of the game we were rubbed a clear goal which triggered the whole thing. Note that most of these incidents happened right in front of Curva Nord.

The intention clearly was not to injure anyone but to stop the match. There was also a clear signal at the half time when a banner read: “we don’t give a phuck about this game” which somehow sums it all up.

I’m not defending those minority of hard core fans, because after all it was evident that flares were thrown from a certain section of Curva where Irriducibili ultras are located. What they did can perhaps not be justified. However unlike others I do understand what they are going through and frankly speaking I have no idea what I would have done if I was among those fans myself.

Moreover we should all pray that no matter what Moratti does not resigns. Several newspapers indicated that Moratti apperantly had said that he has not felt this low since the start if his era. Without Moratti we will be just another Lazio/Roma. His backing is vital for the club.

I have taken few pictures of the tifos which I will post here soon.

All I can say is that there isnt a black and white answer to this question.
I'm sure there are anti moratti fans in each ultras group and among Inter fans in general.

Thanks Ashkan. It seems that at least more and more people are beginning to see the fact that the whole Dida injury could have been avoided if the man had moved away from the target area the moment the first items were being hurled onto the pitch. Moreover, if you watch the match again, when the tunnel was brought out to allow the Milan players to enter the dressing rooms, every Milan player was in a rush to enter the tunnel save Dida. His continued slow pace of walk betrayed no hint of anxiety that the Curva Nord as a whole was angry. You can make your own thoughts up about that one, but Dida definitely knows more than in his capacity as an innocent victim.

Ciao,
Tim
