thats not even true. I think Chelsea is the one that will rival Inter for top defense.

Samuel and Chivu are class above Evans, Brown, Oshea

teams dont attack Barca as much because they are busy defending against Messi, Eto'o and the rest. Barca's defense -

Marquez, Puyol, Caceres, MIlito (glass knee) Pique, Alvez, Maxwell and Abidal

thus starting 11 is : Alves Puyol Marquez Abidal

at the very least, Maicon and Lucio will walk into this team. Maicon is better than Alves and Lucio can easily displace Puyol or Marquez. Furthermore, Chivu and Samuel are 10x better than Pique and Carceres

Good signing. This also means a big FU to Chelsea for playing hardball with us for Carvalho and what his face. We still might go after Deco (unfortunately), but Chelsea will be stuck with Carvalho, a player who clearly doesnt want to stay there.

I am really happy with this transfer, have always rated Lucio quite a lot. The only draw back is, we really didnt need a player in this position. lol.

Lucio, Samuel, Chivu, Cordoba, Matrix. Now thats a good defence. Lucio and Samuel, the favourites to start, but you never know what will happen through out the season.

Time to kick Burdisso and Rivas out.

Again, u insist on being ignorant. Busquets is a DM...Hleb is not. I dont particularly like Hleb, i mean, he is not my cup of tea, but lets call a spade what it is - a spade! Guadiola seems to me like a man who wants an all catalan 11. he is biased towards catalans/spaniards. Furthermore, Hleb was competing with Messi and Henry ( to a lesser extent) for a place. u think its easy to bench messi??? guardiola also seems like a guy who does not rotate a lot. thats also a problem.

Actually I think we did.

We needed a defender who was right footed and also a defender that had some height & pace (not just only one of them attributes) and most importantly, Jose loves defenders who are technically good on the ball and can bring it forward at pace (attacking as part of the midfield).

This move highlights even more that the creativity issue will not be fixed with the signing of one midfielder, it will be done by many signings + tactics (explains why we are focusing on intensity early on. Improving the teams creativity as a whole).

By that I mean, instead of one player ala Diego, we get Milito to take pressure off Ibra, and then Ibra+SMB can drop in the hole behind Milito to set up play. Furthermore, we now have some run coming through from our defence.

I would prefer all of that then signing one player and burden him with the responsibility of carrying our teams creativity.

He had knee problem for quite some time and took a surgery two or three yrs back. I haven't followed Bundes since around that time, and I have no idea if he is well recovered or not.
