IMO he has a place in Conte's formation as a SS.

Agreed, he would be a perfect fit for Inter now. I guess he is kind of Inter fan? I see alot of pictures etc that he visits Inter a few times, even visiting a evening match and training the next morning in Monaco. I'm a fan of him, he did fairly well for us. Not always giving the minutes he should have had with a declining Perisic at his position. Never liked him if he had to play on the right wing but with the new system he would be great back-up as a SS.

Monaco asked to much for him, he wasn't worth the 30M Monaco asked. His marketvalue is now around 20M, I would prefer a loan but I guess Monaco won't loan him out again.

Didn't he got a second yellow card after his celebration of this goal?

no, he received second yellow card after fouling Drągowski in injury time... it cancelled Brozo's goal.

I remember when he joined that he said he was an Inter fan because of Eto'o or something like that. I would've rather kept him than Politano, but not keeping him is no great loss, especially for the price.

Keita's a victim of his own limitations as much as he is a victim of the modern football market.

He's just one of many decent players who was bought at an inflated price by some dipshit, nouveau riche club like Monaco. Since then, his price tag and wages do not match his ability and you're left with a way over-valued player who is stuck between being not good enough for top teams yet too expensive for mid/small teams.

Same story for Joao Mario, Kondogbia etc.

He would've been a better option than Politano but not consistent enough to play at this level.

i absolutely agree with this but it also has to be pointed out that these players usually feel quite comfortable in that position.

it wouldn't take much to break the cycle: just accept to earn less and in many cases that would compensate the inflated buying price. you're also a millionaire making 1.5 million euros a year, you would have the chance to prove your worth and in a matter of 2 years you could be back to the previous wages, if you can show you really deserve them.

so yeah, in a way keita & co. are kind of victims of the system, but as much as they are accomplices.

Apparently it will be a loan for 1mil and option to buy for 13mil.

Thats a great deal. Hopefully he finds his form in Italy again. I'd rather we pulled off something like that that spend 19 on Pinamonti or sign a log of wood like Llorente.

I would've preferred him here over Politano last year and I'd even say over Alexis too.
Maybe I am biased because he is senegalese but i think he could've helped us more than the italian discount Robben.

if conte could mask lukaku's inconsistent technique and make him effective, then yeah, I have no doubt he could've made keita useful. I'd even argue, EXTREMELY effective/dangerous.

Missed opportunity for us no doubt. Cheap loan and low salary.

^ Definitely seems to have a good feeling towards the club and wanted to stay last time. I dare say he would’ve leaped at the offer.. if we made one.

A bit brainless at times but he always was best as a second striker and not a winger. Shame that Conte is so obsessed with having a physical target man like Dzeko because as Howl said, €1m loan + €13m option is a fucking stupidly good deal.

Always liked him, even before he played for us. Shame it didn't work out, good luck in Sampdoria.

Actually i think he was decent as left forward/winger. Just Spalletti was obsessed with Perisic even when the latter was in awful form and Keita didn't get so many chances.

I didn't even realize he's still just 25. Good luck at Samp, I wish we signed you permanently when we had the chance.

^ To be fair, €35m option was a fucking joke.

I mean, he would have taken Sanchez's spot, Lautaro's substitute. A good player, but not worth that price for his role.

loan with option for 13 mio is great deal. 30 mio option was fuckin joke. But I guess his contract is about to run out so Monaco agree to much lower the price now.

I like him and he seems to love Inter. probably we can get him when he is 33 years old
