Okay, so has all the positive people who refuse to analyse matches, cheered enough now so that Mr Critizism can re-enter? :D

This was a game we won based on pure grinta as I earlier said. Our midfield in the second half was totally gone, and especially Kily was missing in the offensive game. This was caused due to us not being able to keep the ball for more than five seconds, so we couldn´t move up our team.

Something happened in our team after 60 minutes and I was just waiting for Juve to score. Our defence was running around like madmen and they were very disorganized. Especially Mihajlovic is playing out of position in our defence. If you look at the latest matches, you´ll see he is numerous of times five meters in front of the rest of the defence.
Yesterday, Favalli and Cordoba saved his butt several times. Favalli pretty much acted as a central defender and he was an unsong hero yesterday.

I cannot stress this enough. SECOND BALLS!!!! Juve won every single one of them. We need to position ourselves better when we don´t have the ball, so that we start to collect those second balls.

We played destructive and there was no difference between yesterday's Inter than the one we saw with Cuper. Our mission was to break down Juve early and cause free-kicks. Against Juve this works, but had we played this disorganized in defence against Milan we would have been punished. Add to that, that Toldo was brilliant.

The match took a change into our favour when Vieri came on. Finally someone who De Santis favoured when he went down. It didn´t seem to matter how often Martins was fouled, he was never awarded a freekick. However, this changed when Vieri came on who disrupted Juve's rythm.

The long balls from defence to strikers were appauling to watch, and it´s obvious that Mancini has forgot to practice how to play without Veron on the field. We don´t have to play like this only because he´s missing.

It was a very stressfull match with a lot of yelling and cheering, and the overall result was awesome. I also admire the spirit we played with. From a technical point of view, this was perhaps our worst game this season. If it was on purpose to be destructive, then with the help of Toldo, Mancini succeeded. There's still a lot of work to do defensively, because it wasn't organized at all for being a zonal defence.

Francesco Toldo was undoubtedly the hero of Inter’s 1-0 win over Juventus at the Stadio Delle Alpi on Wednesday. The goalkeeper was literally unbeatable, not only helping to maintain his side’s record as Serie A’s most in-form outfit of 2005, but also keeping alive the title hopes of city rivals Milan.

It has not been a great campaign thus far for Toldo, with club owner Massimo Moratti hinting that the veteran ‘keeper may be on his way out at the end of the season. But the 33-year-old has responded in the best way possible.

Against League leaders Juventus in Week 32, the shot-stopper made a string of fantastic saves, most of which came against Zlatan Ibrahimovic. And when he was finally beaten, the frame of the goal came to his aid on two occasions.

After Julio Cruz gave Inter the lead in the first half, it was a dominant second-half display from the Bianconeri, with Toldo making at least three match-winning saves from the super Swede. As well as a fierce free kick from Ibra, Toldo performed heroics again as the international chested down and rifled a shot towards goal, only to see the massive ‘keeper palm it away.

The former Fiorentina man has undoubtedly been one of Inter’s best players since the turn of the year and perhaps deserves to stay at the club for another season. With speculation rife, however, of a possible return for current Parma ‘keeper Sebastien Frey, Toldo’s future at the club remains uncertain.

Although the San Siro giants have lost just once in the League, to neighbours Milan, they are too far off the pace to worry the Serie A leaders. Going out to the Rossoneri in the Champions’ League quarter-finals effectively ended their major goals for the season and could have signaled the end of Toldo’s time in Milan.

Toldo’s early season form with Inter was so indifferent that he was dropped by Roberto Mancini, who favoured veteran Alberto Fontana for a time. However, even he proved unreliable between the sticks as Mancio searched for some consistency at the back. Now, with Toldo back in goal, Inter have the best defensive record of 2005, conceding just 11 - better than both Milan and Juventus.

Whether Toldo is forced out of the Nerazzurri or if he decides to quit the club in the summer remains to be seen. However, one thing is for certain. With so many English clubs desperate for a world class ‘keeper, the former Italian international won’t be short of suitors – especially if he puts in a few more performances like the one against Juventus.

I agree with Jimmy's 'realistic' analysis, I am still puzzled as to what Grinta means? It was a game reminiscent of the Cuper days, but this what happens when you have two DM's.

But I care less, I just want a formation that wins us games and help us stop conceding goals.

Spot on! As I have always insisted and discussed this matter with our panel of samba football lovers - result should be the most imp thing for us. Imagine if we were the better team by miles last night and totally dominated them and yet lost the game. In few years or even months time people (mainly on-inter fans) will only remember the result and not how it was achieved.

So down to hard work for our guys, if now there are some fancy moves here and there I will personally take it with open arms. For our football club priority numero uno should always be the result and the rest will be icing on the cake.

You said it well.

Ifs and buts never end like this. Those end by winning. :star:

.

for the record, i dont think we would of had 'more' chances on goal if we got rid of zanetti for that game. cause they were closing us down well.

on the contrary, the 2 dm's is what helps us score against these big teams. With those 2 in the middle, u can hold posession for a while, and when u dothis, it becomes sustainded pressure, which eventually gives in..

What Ashkan said was correct, when it's crunch time and we're not in the position to challenge for the championship, the fans could care less about the way we dominated in past games but rather on the number of wins we could not garner. We may have not played with all style or flash, but right now, i would take a win we could get in any possible way apart from cheating for it and be proud of the scoreline. In essence, you can look at yesterday's game as a masterclass in disrupting Juventus' gameplan to the fullest by deploying 2 excellent DMs to foil their flow of play.

Juventus did had their fair share of excellent chances, but it was Toldo's night yesterday. He was up to the task alongside his fellow teammates and didn't let us down.

Ciao,
Tim

Inter’s win was not casual. The team has vastly improved from the first round as the Nerazzurri are conceding less goals than before, thus resulting in more points won. Mancini is learning from past mistakes as against Juventus, Inter played an intelligent game; a very good first half and a cautious second half where the squad kept the Bianconeri at bay. It is too late to get anything this season, but the spirit and quality Inter is showing now bides well for next year.

Grazie Xandru, I really appreciate it. I copied some shots from the clip, eight in total. They were about the shame that goes by the name of Zlatan. I saved them, but whe I wanted to post them, all I see was a blank WMP screen :depress:

I did once before and it worked, but now it didn't. I bet Moggi has a hand, I better delete the picture I have of his saved on my hard disk.

Forza Milan & Inter!!!

I wish there was a way that we beat Juve and not let you benefit, but life isn't perfect.

BTW, I saw that Sheva goal again, and you are right, should've counted. I missed the first time, but, live by the sword, die by the sword. Don't be like Juve last year, tell Galliani to wire the money before games. :D

BTW I was shocked to hear that we have the best defence of the 2nd part of the season. Better then Juve, Milan, or anyone else. Just imagine if we had played that great earlier on in the season.

I have 4 words for you mate: Esteban Cambiasso Cristiano Zanetti ;)

Capello from goal.com:

“We played well, but the result was not in our favour. Inter are inferior to us, but they closed themselves well and hit us with quick counter-attacks. Our first half wasn’t good, but in the second we did beautiful things,” he said

I agree with Capello, we are definitely inferior to Juve. Let's not all jump up and forget one thing. Juve are far far far superior to us when it comes to cheating power, making kids sleep and getting banged by a 6th-placed EPL team.

Good god you scared me to death for a moment mate! :dielaugh:

These are pics from sportal.it, please guys if you have pics that are not from inter.it post them here!

Sorry to say this, but unfortunately not serious. I had a smirk in my face when he went down, I thought burdisso will be hurried back. But now he is back in the squad. Again, no malice, get well Materazzi, but you know what I mean.

Zlatan ban rules out Milan clash Thursday 21 April, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Francesco Totti has been given a five-match ban, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic's three-game stop rules him out of the Milan showdown.
Ibrahimovic was going to be suspended for this Sunday's trip to Lazio anyway after he was booked in the 1-0 defeat to Inter, but TV evidence was also used for his off the ball clash with Ivan Cordoba.

Not witnessed by the officials, it prompted another two-match ban that will rule the Juventus striker out of games against Bologna and Milan. It's almost certain Juve will appeal to get the suspension reduced.

That lash out on Cordoba wasn't the only incident involving Ibrahimovic during the game, as he also headbutted Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Roma captain Totti was sent off in yesterday's 2-0 home loss to Siena for striking Francesco Colonnese in an off the ball incident, but the referee's report also noted another kick at the same player earlier on.

The linesman spotted the punch and suggested the Italian international be shown his second red card of the season, making him Roma’s least disciplined player with 12 bookings completing his tally of shame.

“We will fine the maximum 30 per cent of Totti’s monthly wages,” announced Giallorossi Coach Bruno Conti. “We must also point out that he is subjected to constant provocation. He has to rise above it, but the referees should also look out for this treatment.”

The fine – which should amount to £82,000 – is a clear signal that the club is increasingly frustrated with Totti’s attitude and lack of leadership skills. He will only be able to play one more Serie A game this season - the closer against Chievo - missing out on Sampdoria, Brescia, Parma, Atalanta and the Rome derby.

“There are times in which a player has to put the club first,” continued Conti. “These incidents have to be eliminated from his game and everyone saw what happened so I am not here to defend him. Francesco also knows what he did and will have the opportunity to reflect on his behaviour.”

It is curious timing, as this afternoon Totti was also was fined £10,250 for statements made after their Week 27 2-1 defeat to Juventus, in which he accused the referee of rigging the match in favour of the Bianconeri.

The other Serie A players suspended for this weekend’s games are:

Dallamano (Brescia), Maggio (Fiorentina), Terlizzi (Palermo), Zoro (Messina), Costacurta (Milan), Gattuso (Milan), Appiah (Juventus), Cardone (Parma), Cipriani (Bologna), Colonnese (Siena), Tudor (Siena), Conti (Cagliari), Cristante (Messina), D'Anna (Chievo), Lanna (Chievo), Diamoutene (Lecce), Stovini (Lecce), Makinwa (Atalanta), Montolivo (Atalanta), Muntari (Udinese), Pinzi (Udinese) and Mesto (Reggina).
