I genuinely think Mourinho’s biggest problem is the quality of the team’s he's managed in the past. Our team or even the first Chelsea team he had could sit back and defend a lead for 2 hours if need be. But football’s changed so much, the modern players’s mentality is different to 20 years again but even more than that the small teams especially in the premier league aren’t scared anymore, they will come at you so you’re playing a very dangerous game trying to hold on to a 1 goal lead every time

Mourinho is done at the highest level, that's been obvious for some time.

Lol "Mourinho is done at the highest level" then "Mourinho is like Conte". So Conte is not a top level coach that some of you were making him up to be?
The double standards of these people

There's nothing wrong with Mourinho. He'd be killing it at Inter. That's all there is to it. Managing a lightweight club like Tottenham and making them pretend they are Liverpool is not an easy task. It takes time.

He's probably gonna get axed soon.

While playing some terrible football out there.

Yep, how quickly things change. Just a couple of months ago people over here were crying that we never got him instead of Conte. Pains me to say this but Jose might be done for. If you think Conte’s football is bad, Jose’s right now is down right depressing. The most alarming thing is his pressing game is awful and in modern football that’s just unacceptable especially when you’re in charge of a big team

Conte in a million years would never be 0.1 the coach Jose is. And what you just said about Tottenham applies to Conte and Inter as well.

Are you saying Conte is not 0.1% of this version of Jose? If you’re talking about Jose on his career then he was one of the best but this Jose is nowhere close to that.

Maybe if he managed to offload Dele Alli and brought Skriniar, he would be closer to the title.

It's been hard for all teams, we should know. I'd say this Jose is still better than his last season at United.

And that's why he should have never taken the job. If he could manage to win the league, it would be his greatest achievement since winning CL with Inter. But if he misses on top 4, which wouldn't be a surprise considering the competition, it would be considered a failure and this could be his last job at the top level. It always was a move of high risk, high reward for Jose.

No fans also hurts them a lot, unlike almost every other PL team.

But Mourinho had made teririble choices with managing PL clubs since returning there. He is hurting his legacy in order to be with his family. I guess he doesn't care that much about this. He gets paid a ton, is happy overall and it's still a football management job, it's not as if he ended up being a goalkeeping coach in Swindon. I'm sure he'll manage, but it will keep hurting his legacy. He needs to finish top 4 and win a trophy with them if he wants people to stop saying he's not good anymore and other nonsense.

And that's why he should have never taken the job.

I hate this phrase. When it's Pep only choosing the richest, most powerful club in the country (Bayern, ManCity) people groan about it, and when another big coach take a lower club (Mou with Spurs, Ancelotti with Everton) it's not good either. It's just an empty phrase that means nothing in the grand scheme of things. You can win with any club.

The same guy that is at Spurs now won CL with Porto and with Inter. Does he make mistakes? All of the coaches do. Does he sometimes take more of a defensive approach and gets buttfucked? Yeah, he does, but the same approach made him win titles before. But as far of choices go, Spurs was not a bad destination, he has mostly the same players that reached the CL final and they have shown glimpses already that they can be really good.

Lads, it's Mourinho. He has a slight archaic approach to football, but he is still Mou.

What's archaic about his style?

What is modern football style like? What has it accomplished?

The top teams usually hoard the best playersnkow, style does not matter... That's your answer.

Yeah you guys clearly haven’t watched Spurs play a full game in a long time. Their last 3 games they’ve had a lower xG ( expected goals) than a West Ham CB called Craig Dawson. 1.17 compared with 1.29. That is incredible. Jose is trying to counter attack even against smaller teams, it’s downright depressing. Spurs fans are absolutely livid and rightfully so want him gone. And again you guys are making an excuse about why he went to Spurs, I mean players wise they’re the same level of us if not better so not like it would have been any different if he had taken us over.
