im hoping that he has some great (great) grandfather from italy, and those 6 months in bologna he actually gets his italian passport and shit.

i dont like the idea of "impress us at bologna if you want us to buy you", to much pressure imo, also the guy just moved to europe...

Maybe he is similar to palacio, i like that type of player, who always puts the team before himself, just lets hope he is faster and more agile...

i seriously have no idea what kind of striker he is, also those 4 minutes clips on youtube, where they spend 1.4 minutes on just one tap-in goal make me stupider every time...

calleri sounds very italian and I wouldn't be surprised about his possible italian origins.

From Argentina: Boca blocking negotiations until Calleri sold

The future of Jonathan Calleri is perhaps having more implications on the mercato than first thought. According to Argentine source FutbolSports, Boca have made it clear that there will be no negotiations regarding the transfer market until Monday because of the sale of Calleri.

Hasn't been called up for a tournament Boca will play in...as he is on his way to Italy as we speak.
However the player is owned by the fund Stellar Group and Uruguayan 2nd division club Deportivo Maldonado which owners are business partners...
They will loan Calleri to Bologna and we will have an option to buy him in the summer for a little over 15 mil dollars.
It isn't a certainty that we will actually buy him tbh.

Calleri: Bologna deal is done

Despite Bologna claiming the contrary, Jonathan Calleris father continues to insist its all done for a loan, then Inter have an option in June.
The Boca Juniors striker is the subject of an increasingly confusing transfer to Serie A, via third party owners Stellar Group and Deportivo Maldonado.
The transfer on loan for six months to Bologna is all done, it is a completed move, insisted Guillermo Calleri on calciomercato.com.
When he arrives in Italy, he will also get an EU passport. In June he can join Inter, who have an option on him.
Jony spoke to Carlos Tevez and Dani Osvaldo, who told him how big Inter are not just in Italy, but in the world.

Official: Bologna sign Floccari
By Football Italia staff

Bologna have officially confirmed the signing of Sassuolo striker Sergio Floccari.

Talks between the two clubs have been ongoing for some time, but the forward’s agent admitted last week that there was “hesitation” from the Neroverdi.

However, in a short statement on their official website, the Rossoblu have confirmed that Floccari has moved to Dall’Ara.

“Bologna FC 1909 announces the outright signing of forward Sergio Floccari from Sassuolo.”

The 34-year-old has for Serie A goals this season, despite making just five starts for Eusebio Di Francesco’s men.

Does that mean Calleri's loan to Bologna(via Inter) is off?

Bologna’s hopes of signing Jonathan Calleri appear to have been dashed. According to Sky Sports, Inter have stalled because they want to lower the cost of the deal. Bologna are trying to kick start negotiations, but the player is too expensive. Pantaleo Corvino has already brought Sergio Floccari to Bologna. Inter are not giving up on Calleri, even if they can only acquire the player next summer.

FCINews reports that Calleri's summer destination was always gonna be Inter and his 6 month loan to whatever club isn't a problem for Inter.
Now the closest loan option is to Atletico Mineiro...the boy and parties involved are in favour of this loan deal
In the summer he is gonna be Inter's first buy (unless a surprising twist occurs) they concluded.

So he'll pick a non-EU slot.
Also why can't he stay at Boca?

"Unless a surprising twist occurs". Unless everything we just said is bullshit. Unless it didn't occur to you that the Italian media are goatfuckers.

Really can't see Calleri coming here. All the links said that he was going to Bologna. Calleri's father said the deal was practically done. Bologna replied with a "we have no idea what the fuck he's talking about" and IIRC Ausilio seconded that. Then Bologna sign Floccari and all of a sudden Calleri is linked to Brazilian clubs.

Who knows, maybe it could be a loan deal to Brazil accommodated by the involved third party groups (like Otamendi when he was signed by Valencia and moved to Brazil for six months). Or maybe it's a loan deal for another club. Or his entourage could be namedropping Inter to drive the price up and make the actual guys interested move quicker.

So basically we don't have any idea what's going on. I feel it's a Susic/Duda all over again for how long it's been drawn out.

You just know a rumour is bullshit when all the hype is coming from the player's end and none from the supposedly interested club's end. He and his father are just trying to have his name associated with a big club.

Alright well I think this kind of puts an end to the saga as far as Inter is concerned.

“Jonathan will go to Deportivo Maldonado, we have an agreement,” Guillermo Calleri revealed, speaking to Calciomercato.

“After that we’ll look for the best solution for him. The lad wants to play in Italy, but he needs a club which will focus on letting him play.

“Palermo are interested in him, and playing for such a big club, with a Coach like [Guillermo Barros] Schelotto would be perfect for him.

“We’ll see if a deal materialises. The process for acquiring dual-nationality is almost complete. By the 28th of January I’ll be in Italy, and Jonathan will be an EU-player in every respect.

“In my opinion, Inter didn’t show proper interest in Jonathan. The deal with them won’t be done, and therefore Bologna have pulled back too.”

As many expected I don't think our interest in the kid was nearly as much as his father and Boca initially led us to believe. I'm going to close this thread for the time being, if things turn around and there are some concrete rumors we can reopen it.
