Biava, barzagli dainelli, moretti, p cannavaro and burdisso might disagree with you there. but 34 is old for a brazilian.

Selling Miranda makes sense for Atletico Madrid

Miranda, on the other hand, was erratic and his form often varied between the sublime and the ridiculous; oozing class on occasions while looking like he had his boots on the wrong feet on others. He made fewer tackles (1.9), interceptions (1.6) and committed more fouls than the Uruguayan in his 23 league starts.

Therefore, while some people may raise eyebrows and question Atleti's ambition, the fans and club hierarchy can be rest assured that they have made the right decision. Getting around €15 million from a side without European football next season is another example of the club's shrewd negotiating tactics, especially given the player's age and contract situation.

Miranda joins centre-forward Mario Mandzukic through the exit door. The Croat, who signed from Bayern Munich for €22 million last summer joined Italian champions Juventus for a deal worth around €19 million, meaning Atleti are making a rare loss on a striker. This is an exit that Diego Simeone would have sanctioned personally given the two's falling out and he will be hoping to use the cash generated from both this sale and that of Miranda to secure a top-quality replacement.

Miranda on why he chose Inter.

“During the negotiations with Inter, I asked about Mancini,” Miranda told Goal.

“I always got excellent feedback, that was very important in reaching an agreement with Inter. I’m sure Mancini will help me improve a lot, and I think this will be the start of a beautiful relationship.”

Miranda also reveals that he sought advice about the city before committing to a move.

“I asked Thiago Silva, Kaka and [Philippe] Coutinho, and they raved about the city. It seems a bit like Madrid in terms of the lifestyle, and that was another thing that contributed to my decision.

“There were no doubts about Milan.”

Him possibly not being able to go to China is not good. He's a new player and he needs as much playing time as possible to gel with the rest of the team.

However, with that being said I'm secretly hoping Rano and Murillo can step up. That way our defense would have more of a future. Miranda no doubt will get his chances though, we spent to much for him not to.

Joao Miranda to the fans: "Thanks for the welcome"

"Simeone and Mancini are different Coaches and different people,

“I think it’s difficult to compare them. One is more defensive, while the other is more offensive.

"Of course, Mancini influenced my decision to come here.

“A great team has to have a great Coach and Mancini certainly is."
