I'll give him another year or two (if he can make it) to see if he's a real flop.

I think we shouldn't. It felt like we've lost him, he just didn't care about the colors at the end. But I do think he can succeed somewhere else.

Our best hope is he does well at the WC for resale value, and he probably will because he generally plays well for the NT.

Over!
West Ham 0-0 Burnley

This time it's Portugal midfielder Joao Mario who fires over for the Hammers. He connects with a loose ball from a West Ham corner.

Should have got that on target.

:palm::lol:

Joao Mario has been a strong presence, nonetheless.

Very good performance thus far.

A West Ham fan who is my neighbour called me while returning from the game today... in pain.

This is the guy who was jizzing all over himself when West Ham got Mario from us, telling me Inter have done another Coutinho move. I had tried to explain that while we all knew about Coutinho's potential and what kind of player he is even when he was 18, I still have no idea what Mario is good at even after watching him play like 50 times. Anyways, today he finally understood what I was talking about.

Mario is a bench player for a mid table team. We got duped. If we can sell him for half price, we would be committing daylight robbery. I am actually hoping that the deal that brought Mario to Inter was money laundering. I much rather Suning be corrupt than so fucking incompetent.

The annoying thing is he has obvious talent. He just looks like he doesnt give a fuck and when the going gets tough he just fades away, no hunger for it. Such a shame

They have obligation to buy or just option to buy?

Neither. It's just a dry loan as the two teams couldn't agree about the sum of the option.

FcInterNews.it, il club inglese ha già avanzato una prima offerta all'Inter per il riscatto del portoghese: 12 milioni di sterline (circa 14 milioni di euro).

From 40+ million to 10+ million. Thats minus 30 million in year and half. Hopefully now with Sabatini we will make better transfers.

Meanwhile, Football Italia are inventing shit :palm:

The Nerazzurri bought the Portuguese midfielder for €40m plus €5m in bonuses after Euro 2016, but he struggled to make an impact at San Siro.

In January they sent him to the Hammers on loan, with a €40m option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

So, our only hope seems to be him performing magically well at the World Cup (if he manages to retain his starting spot). I think he can perform well in a Valencia type of club, that play somewhat good attacking football without any real pressure to produce results every week. Arguably, that's the best environment for almost every player but he can especially thrive there. Sending him to West Ham, that fight hard to avoid relegation, was a mistake.

Also, the title is a bit misleading. It suggests Mário is talking like Kondogbia, in the sense that he doesn't anything to do with Inter. If you read the interview, it appears that Mário is just trying to focus on his current team, not in his last one.

I think it is strange how two players that made their repscetive names with the Portuguese National team Joao Mario and Renato Sanches are now struggling so horribly. For both players, their respective falls have been spectacular: playing for Inter and Bayern Munich and now struggling at West Ham and Swansea City.

Sanchez is only 20 years old, so its a tad more forgivable.
