I can't believe we missed out on this. The short term effects are obvious. Balotelli will be sold, and with all the new money, Moratti will feel compelled to overpay for some awful player.

In the long-term, this will work out well for Mariga and Motta, although I think Mascherano could've helped out this team. Mascherano has no spot in Barca, and will pay for this move. (See Deco, Ballack)

Not too sure whether I am happy or upset that we will miss out on Mascherano. We are the European Champions and our squad is unbelievable. Staying the same + Biabiany & Coutinho.. maybe Sculi aint that bad afterall.

It's just that even great teams and champions seek to improve. Look at Barca. However, even if nothing happens and no big names arrive, I still have the utmost faith in our squad. In Branca I trust too

to be honest I dont think Mascherano will start ahead of Busquets. Busquets is really underrated in here, the guy was an essential part for Spain to win the world cup, he was the reason Yaya left Barca. If Mascherano wants to start then he better earn his place, it wont be handed to him and thats for sure.

On one hand, I'm really not a fan of getting Masch considering we already have so many options at DM, but on the other hand, I think it's unlikely that we'll be getting our hands on any more quality players this transfer market other than him. I still don't see why we are not aiming for Ozil; he's young, talented, fits right into our system, and is available for 16M. Maybe he's not interested in us, but it just looks like we're not trying.
