He's a direct winger, if we wanted someone who just passes the ball around and plays it safe when he's not scoring or assisting we should just put Joao Mario there. It's only in the last two games against Juve and Udinese that he decided to completely forget how to control a simple pass. He's also proven to be a viable aerial which is useful for all the crossing from the right side. I really don't see how he's useless on the rare game or two he plays without scoring/assisting.

Perisic is actually good, I don't see where the critisism comes from there's a reason why Mourinho wanted him. Maybe it's because he has the roll of a leader so you bash him if something goes bad?

Depends on what you mean with defensively. He runs back yes, he tracks the player yes, he looks at the ball yes nothing more though and the opponents attacking will play on like he was never there. How many interceptions does this fool do?

As a passionate Candreva hater I think I'm many things but not blind. I watch him every second of the game. It's now an obsession.


EDIT: Just to make sure, I'm actually pretty happy with him lately even though his crossing has been shit. He atleast get some assists now which have been helping us big times. And I'm liking his movements which must have something Spalletti have been working on.

No longer does he score or assist something out of his ass when he's anonymous throughout the whole match nor did he track back when we conceded. Perisic needs to listen to his captain. If he had of done that we would have won the game on wednesday. Instead he took on a stupid shot

Yeah but it's not that simple. People listen to you if you have an actual authority and I don't think perisic considers Icardi as that kind of figure. I mean, Icardi is no Zanetti.

I think it works the same for all of us: we can take an order or being "scolded" if we respect the authority of the person who's talking, otherwise we simply don't.

It's not a matter of authority. He is expected to feed the ball to a teammate (be it Icardi or Pinamonti) who is in a better position to score because he's part of a team. Moreover, Icardi isn't immune from criticism, but no one can accuse him of being greedy or selfish in front of goal, since he always tries to set up a teammates when the opportunity arises (Eder vs Torino, Mario Wednesday, etc...)
The problem with Perisic is that he's too tired to do his usual stuff (feint, kick the ball past the defender, sprint, collect the ball, cross), which pushes him unconsciously into trying to compensate with goals. That's way, at least imho, he doesn't take on the defender any more, whereas he keeps taking shots from impossible positions (remember that ridiculous volley vs Udinese?)

We fkn need winners, it breaks my heart to see that Perisic can't keep on fighting and continue his form. I felt like he almost regained it when he scored, he looked so fucking satisfied.

Agreed. It’s just one situation and it happened a lot last season too, I mean Perisic being selfish. I dont think there’s problem between him and Icardi.

The lack of competition in our squad is frustrating. Him and Candreva have been pretty shit in past few games, and we dont even have someone who can outplay them, Karamoah is inexperienced and cannot fit in the system properly meanwhile Eder is terrible.
