I think they had a good mercato. But you cant just throw a bunch of new players in the field and expect them to play as a single unit.
They did lose their core tho and their defense is pretty shit atm. Also Giroud is 37 and has to battle defenses on his own for the most part.

Cagliari with 7 points in the last 3 games and out of the relegation zone currently. At the beginning they were looking as one of the main candidates for relegation but looking back, their first 8 games of the season they faced Inter, Milan, Atalanta, Fiorentina, Roma, Torino, Bologna, and Udinese so difficult start.

Obviously they may still be there come end of the season, but they are looking better now - good thing we got that away match out of the way.
