Yeah that’s way too big of a change in the fine margins of how the game is played. I’m more in favor of using var review with a line drawn with a 2-3cm margin of error or something like that. No offside for a millimeter of a sleeve.

I've advocated for this change, but giving it something of a trial period is the right way to do it because, you're right, it's a seismic adjustment to defensive strategy. This method of offside would essentially eliminate the offside trap as being a defensive strategy. Sounds like a great way to introduce more goal scoring until you see that what it does instead is lead to even more low block setups instead. If that ends up being the case, then we probably just took goals out of the game in the long run.
