People probably don't remember it but Gasperini actually did a favor to Inter by taking points from Lazio in 2017/18. Of course Inter managed to fuck it up against Sassuolo so we also needed a favor from Zenga but that's not the point.

Now that i am thinking of that game, i had Gasperini as my avatar for a week because of that game. I hated Gasp so it wasn't easy. Perhaps i should do something similar this time. I think we well and truly fucked ourselves. The scheduling was atrocious but during that stretch of games, the club needed to prioritise the competitions in which we had the best chance in the order of: Scudetto, Coppa and Champions League.

Our failure to do so undermined our bid for the Scudetto as we spread ourselves too thin and were not able to get the results that were needed. All that was really needed was a common sense approach and the realisation that we did not have the squad depth to fight on all three fronts.

Also, you can not say that we have not had our chances since that really difficult stretch of matches. The opportunities have been numerous but we failed on each occassion when we had a chance to make up some ground and go top of the table. The most recent example of that is the game in hand against Bologna.

What really bothers me is that the grinta and confidence we had last season has evaporated. When we lost under Conte, we almost always bounced back. Also, under Conte, in games when we were trailing we always battled and scrapped until the end.

Under Inzaghi, we have returned to being flaky, unpredictable and psychologically weak.

Radu fucked up the Bologna match. We fucked up on several other occasions.

I say the top of our fuck ups was the defeat against our direct rival in such a pathetic way. If we lose the title many should take the blame for it, not just Radu. Radu would just be the most remembered scapegoat because he made the most atrocious fuck up, but many others are to blame if we fail to win the Scudetto.

We don't need Atalanta to beat Milan. Two draws in their last 3 matches would be enough for us. Atalanta had a disappointing season but let's hope they give Milan a challenge. Salernitana has been on a good run recently. They want to stay up.

Very much doubt milan draw twice. They only have 3 games left and are very motivated as the finish line is in sight. I think it's more likely they lose one game and win two than win one and draw two.

It just doesn't feel like it's going to happen though. Somehow, some way they always seem to get the goal, the big defensive stop, or the big save when needed. I give Pioli credit as last year their big issue is they would drop nonsense points all the time. In a way this is similar to us but reversed. We were relentlessly consistent last year w/ Conte but w/ Inzaghi we have lacked consistency all year outside of November to January.
