Feel like Monchi lost the plot just a little bit. Roma talk about their ambitions, and their new stadium coming, and their deep run in Europe last year, but, whether they netted a healthy net transfer margin or not, fact is that selling those two + Alisson gives the impression of the club still being a seller's club above everything else. I can't fault getting 75M Euro for a 'keeper, so I'm not going to use hindsight to criticize Monchi here. Just that it's a mentality thing for the club, and Monchi probably didn't do too much to help that.
Still plenty of time for that turn around though, both domestically and in Europe. And if they gel and finish top-4, then they met expectations while strengthening the books. And, ultimately, Roma will take that.
