Yes indeed. I wonder if it would be right to call up a old player like Di Vaio. I think Lippi should look ahead and use players that can be important in the next 2 years. But the names he called up now don't make sense indeed.

I don't think that it's accidently that the most players are called up from Juventus. That's really Lippi......I didn't want him to return back and we won't win the WC again with him....Lippi is too much a Juventino to call up the right players.

You have it spot on. 100%. I didn't want Lippi back either but i am suprised of the exclusion of Del.

I don't care about there age so much as its a friendly and that's why we have the under 21 squad. Form should be more of a factor here and Di Vaio has been playing well. Toni and Inquinta struggle to break through to there teams starting 11 but they still make the Azzurri squad...

Wednesday 21.00, Italy - 21 will play against Sweden - 21. The match will be played in Trieste and this is the squad Casirahi called up:

Portieri: Consigli (Atalanta), Sirigu (Ancona).
Difensori: Andreolli (Sassuolo), Bocchetti (Genoa), Criscito (Genoa), Motta (Roma), Pisano (Cagliari), Santacroce (Napoli).
Centrocampisti: Abate (Torino), Candreva (Livorno), Cigarini (Atalanta), Dessena (Sampdoria), Marchisio (Juventus), Morosini (Vicenza), Poli (Sassuolo).
Attaccanti: Acquafresca (Cagliari), Balotelli (Inter), Giovinco (Juventus), Osvaldo (Bologna).
Because of 2 injury's there has been a switch.

Osvaldo is out for Lanzafame (Bari) and Marchisio is out for Marzoratti (Empoli)

Santon is playing for Italy -20.

There is another switch made in the Azzurrini; Francesco Pisano is also injured and will be switched with Lorenzo De Silvestri from Lazio.

There was a bit panic when De Rossi stopped training after 5 minutes. He was bitten by an incest and got an alergic reaction. But he will make it on time. This mitday they will fly to London at 16.30 o' clock.
Als Gamberini got a slight injury. He got an massage and might make it.

Calcio Comedy: 15 Things To Expect From Brazil v Italy

43346_news.jpg

Brazil take on Italy at the Emirates Stadium in London in a much-anticipated friendly. Carlo Garganese lists 15 things to expect from the Selecao vs the Azzurri...

1) The game is billed as a clash between the “world’s two most successful football nations”

2) Every person on the pitch wears gloves, long sleeves, and cycling shorts due to the body-numbing sub-zero temperatures. No-one swaps shirts at the end.

3) All 22 players do the sign of the cross when they enter and leave the pitch.

4) Once again Pele ‘The Jinx’ gets his pre-match prediction wrong. “Brazil will win 3-0, with Ronaldinho, Pato and Robinho scoring,” translates into an Italy triumph by the same scoreline.

5) Even if Luis Fabiano shows up on crutches with an eyepatch and both arms in plaster, Dunga will still start him up-front.

6) Whenever there is a stop in play, the camera zooms in on the beautiful Brazilian and Italian ladies in the crowd. The same Juliana Moreira lookalike (pictured above), with the dark tan, shows up on screen at least five times.

7) The Real Ronaldo is spotted scoffing a greasy pork pie and dairy milk. Sitting next to him, new best friend Michael Phelps is also enjoying some snacks, since he has the 'munchies'.

8) There will be at least one Mexican wave, at which point all true football fans will cringe.

9) During half time, a scuffle breaks out at the burger stall after a group of Italians attempt to push to the front of the queue.

10) The TV commentators fail to get through the 90 minutes without mentioning Roberto Baggio’s penalty miss from 1994. The same goes for Paolo Rossi’s hat-trick in 1982, Brazil’s 4-1 win in 1970, and the fact that Simone Perrotta was born in Ashton-under-Lyne and could have played for England.

11) Luca Toni portrays everything that Brazilian football does not – clumsiness, lack of technique and pace, strength and aerial prowess.

12) Every Milan and Juventus player who starts the game is substituted at half time, leading Jose Mourinho to have a sarcastic moan on Wednesday. Mauro Camoranesi and Alberto Aquilani never enter the fray as they are injured warming-up.

13) When Ronaldinho is substituted, he doesn’t stay around to watch the rest of the game. Instead he heads off to the West End to sample some of the London nightlife. Adriano and Robinho join him later, and they all stay out partying until 5am.

14) Marcello Lippi and Dunga will be asked about Amauri during the post-match press conference. Both will decline to comment.

AND FINALLY...

15) Sergio Mendes’ legendary Brazilian song – Mas Que Nada – will be played before kick off, at half time, and again at full time.

It's amazing......Lanzafame is already injured and also Cigarini got injured. They have been dropped and the 2 new call-ups are: Davide Bottone (Vicenza) and Alessio Cerci (Atalanta).

GDS probable lineup for Italy-Brazil.

Italy (4-3-3)

-----Rossi---------Toni--------Camronesi----

----DeRossi--------Pirlo---------Perrotta------

Grosso--------Cannavaro-----Legro------Zambrotta.

--------------------Buffon-----------------------

Brazil (4-2-3-1)

----------------------Adriano----------------------

----Robinho---------Ronaldinho---------Baptista----

-----------------G.Silva---------Elano--------------

----Marcelo------Juan--------Lucio--------Maicon---

-----------------------J.Cesar---------------------

Three Inter players in the Brazilian lineup, none in Italy's :p. Dont really care who wins the game, but I want Adriano to score a couple, maybe even one for Maicon.
Dont know what Lippi is doing for Italy. Italian lineup seems retarded. He keeps on going with oldie who will be too old to play at the next WC, while ignoring Cassano and Santacrore(spll).

Che gol di Robinho...

Brazil's quick passing is just too much for Italy... it's really a one-sided 1st half.

2-0 for Brazil. And they havent even been that good, its Italy that has been complete crap.

Cannavaro should retire, and Legro should never been called up for NT again. Where are Chellini and Gamberini? Pirlo is gifting too much to Brazil. Pepe has been invisible, only DiNatale is the one doing something from the Italian front 3. Zambrotta and Grosso are the only Italian players who have been good, and DeRossi to a lesser extent.

For Brazil, their attack is great, except for Adriano, who looks like a fat tub of lard out there. Jesus, he needs to loose weight. Looks like he has gained quite a bit in the past 3 weeks. Robinho, Ronaldinho, Elano and Melo have all been brillaint. As well as Maicon and MArcelo. J.Cesar hasnt really had to make a save up til now.

Big thinking for Lippi. This team looks like some one who will crash out of WC group stages, if they make it their in the first place.

Also Kaka is injured and Pato didnt play in the first half. God knows what the scoreline would have been, if they had played.

Wake the fuck up Lippi...

Brazil just smacked us up today but i think things would of been different if Grosso's goal was allowed early in the first half... very close call.
