He was grown up there, joined Lyon at 13 y'o(?), makes sense.
Good luck. Looks like Mazzarri is trying to pull another Cavani here.

Edit: My bad, he joined Lyon at 16 y'o but played for french youth teams since being 5 y'o.
Still, his home nation is Algeria so it makes sense he'd feel closer to them.
