On Cordoba ...

that is precisely the point.as long as he is with Inter he will be a starter, not neccessarily on Merit.

and he being such a cult figure, people wud always be reluctant to think of selling him ... but rationally i think its better to sell him than see him miserable on the bench, or blocking those who deserve to be in the 11 ahead of him on merit
Nope. Burdisso has started ahead of him in the past few matches.

thats coz Cordoba is returning from injury ...

but face it Cordoba is too big for Inter to be on the bench on a regular basis ... whoever plays in his place wud never hv the mental peace and calm to play at 100% ability as long as Ivan is dere

It'll be disrespectful to sell him, even though his form for the past 2-3 seasons has let him down. However, I see something positive over the past few games for Ivan. We should keep him for his versatility and because, well, he is Ivan Ramiro Cordoba. :)

Those who went through the pain of EuroDerby I with me will never even think of selling him.

Couldn't say it any better then you :star:

Agreed. Few say it more precisely than Han

But is it the right thing for Inter?

The situation as it now is is excellent: Burdisso as a starter and Cordoba on the bench, I don't think Ivan has any problems with that... ;)

i hv been saying this for a while now. Cordoba is well past his prime, and he is not going to get better. the kind of game Ivan has, he will loose the plot as he slows down ... and i really dont see him a starting material for next season, specially with the way Burdisso is improving.

Better to sell Cordoba, than see him on the bench - with him being a fan-favorite and all.

And Samuel is a must - ideally Samuel-Burdisso shud be our starting CD pairing, if nt for Materazzi's purple patch.

FINALLY!!!

someone who mirrors my thoughts, thank you 1919. Selling Samuel would be blasphemy. As for Cordoba I dont really care for him to tell you the truth. He has been really good in the past but he has also been really poor at times too. Call me whatever you want but if a player like him is impeding the rapid development of an obvious superstar in the making like Burdisso then I can feel nothing but contempt for him and those who support him starting based on his past.

i doubt burdisso will last...

when cordoba returns to full fitness, he can run faster, jump higher and tackle better than nico

i think mancini is letting nico run out a small purple patch of form

Jump higher than Nico?? How many goals has cordoba scored with his head in his time compared to Nico?? And the tackling is about even. Cafe might be faster but he has terrible positioning compared to Nico.

I love Cafe as a player but he is more mistake prone than Nico.

Nico is the future and the future is now. Cafe has to come to terms that he has to be 3 choice now.

i doubt scoring goals is a defenders job

and who can forget that incredible tackle on montella last season

plus, does anyone remember nico's debut? freaking gave away a goal on his own, cordoba just rusty from injury

we can all go gaga for nico while hes playing but cordoba has proven himself at inter far longer and more consistent than nico

He under hit a back pass. Shit happens. Ask Marco about lobbing his own keeper.

I have been for Nico since he joined Inter. This has nothing do with a so called purple patch as some like to call this period.

All that has happend now is Nico is getting play time and playing for the most part in his natural position.

Those of us who followed from his Boca days now this form is nothing new. It's what he is capable of.

Als if you look at the average ratings gazetta has given the 2 this season. Cordoba averages 6.067 per game while Nico averages 6.27 per game.

Thread name: Is it time to sell Samuel?

Discussions: Who is better, Cordoba or Nico?

Wnayway, IMO, Nico is better then Cordoba at the moment, and will alway be in the future... Cordobas main advantage was his speed, and he is starting to lose it, and will continue. As Nico, he has better heading, their tackling is similar, IMO, Nico has even better tackling. Also, Nico is marking a lot better then Cordoba... That is what I think on this issue...

i hav been following since his days at boca

and i was disappointed for him to underachieve when he came to italy

and i do realise he is finally realising that potential

but you dont change something that aint broke

and cordoba, when hes fully fit again will play ahead of nico

this is not a comparison of how good the players are, its a prediction of what mancini will do

proof? mancini played nico at RB and cordoba at CB against sampdoria

Do you know why mainly Nico underperformed when he came in Italy?? Because he was played ass LB by Mancini every time he played... His position was and still is ofcourse CD, not even RB, end let's not talk about the LB position which fuked him a lot...

i do believe in his debut he gave away a goal within the first 16 minutes on a poor backpass against some random small team whilst playing CB

and he did come to italy with the rep that he could play all positions in defense

and due to favalli or wome's ineptness, was forced to play him more often than needed

The first season Nico had a serious family situation. It's hardly fair to judge someone under those circumstances. The second season he did better but was still played out of position constantly. Third season finally gets an extended run at cb which is his prefered position and proves his worth.

Burdisso has always been great, his first season and a half dont count casue he had his daughter's issue, which offcourse if happened to anyone wouldnt let you even sleep at night let alone play professional football,he is our future starter and if he keeps up his performances i think he should start even now,i like the sound of a burdisso-cordoba partnership for the future but as of right now cordoba/burdisso-Materazzi

it will never be a cordoba-burdisso partnership...

but at least for this season it will be cordoba-materazzi

it wont stay that way for long though, i do see burdisso-samuel as the future centre pairing

Heh I think Cordoba when teamed up with Materazzi plays his best because you got strenght and speed combined in the back line. And plus Cordoba and Matrix have known each other for a while now so I think those 2 should start. But Burdisso is playing fine so I have no complaints....
