We need to take into consideration we're talking about the wages of November and December that were already deferred earlier in the season and they need to be paid till the end of May in order to get a license for next championship. Could there be a further deferral? No idea if FIGC rules allow it. It sounds like this option wasn't even discussed.

If they agree it with the employees, of course there can be any kind of agreements.

If true, I'm extremely disappointed in the players. Apparently they didnt even agree to 2 months deferral.

This is extremely selfish, arrogant and narrow-minded behaviour from them.

I tend to ignore these early, sensationalist reports coz more often than not its just some reporters who know nothing making up some fake news for click bait.

The players don't look like they are pissed with the club. Lets wait a week or two, the truth will emerge and we can judge it. My guess would be that some compromise will be worked out. Or maybe that is my hope.

First thing that comes to me with the players refusing this, is that the Conte attitude is running through all of them.

Everything is Conte's fault. Including winning the Scudetto.

They are professionals and deserve to be paid. The Zhangs need to pay the players and staff or fuck off and find new owners if they cannot afford to run the club.

Realistically, what hope do we have as a football club if our owners are broke and restricted by the Chinese Communist Party in the way they can run and manage the club?

But its okay if you want to put the refusal of the players on Conte. Each to their own.

Really? Players don't want to take salary cut? It's almost as if this is a job and a business.

The Shitter League would have started in 2024.
The projected revenue was never guaranteed.
It is filth and it is dead. Let it go :)

exactly my point. Everyone's like HURR BUT INTER BILLIONAIRES, fuck that shit. The world of football has changed, and revenues are reduced from where they used to be.

Our players need to take their heads out of their asses. The fucking tunnel vision while millions of people die, and _billions_ of people now make less than they did before because of the pandemic is disgusting.

I want to wait to see the truth of this, but if it pans out the way it has been reported in the media, I will have lost all respect for every single player on this team.

I think you're underestimating the risk that we have a fire sale or, potentially, fold in the next 24 months.

The risk is there whether salaries are deferred or not. This is just nitpicking to a degree.

While you're not wrong about that, it still says a lot about the characters of our player and their loyalty to their club. I'm seeing even less loyalty than the players at Juve. At least an appetite to, as Cafe says, make very small sacrifices would go some decent way.

It's not that they haven't made any. They were unpaid for 6 months. Hakimi didn't receive payment ever since arriving at Inter in 2021 :D

Thing is, the players would have accepted this in April 2020. That was a bad move from Suning as things stand, yet one that was praised here.
It'd be cool if the players then said that they are willing to take pay cuts regardless, but they didn't. Their boss was going to pay them anwyay.
Now that Suning paid the entire sum, the team did well in terms of results (EL final, easy CL spot and eventual 2nd spot on the last match, Scudetto now), despite the 2nd CL failure, they feel like Suning is now taking the piss.

It's not as if the players aren't doing what they were hired to do. They train, they play, they even win. Not their fault Suning was okay with the situation and then changed their mind.

There was a time to do this. The ship has sailed.

Yeah but brehme, no one when this started expected it to last this long. In the UK we entered a two week lockdown and we are still trying to come out of it.

Things changed drastically, Suning and the club can change their minds. They tried their best last year to keep things running as normal but this is worst than we all expected.

Players aren't stake holders, they don't get profit or bonuses outside their contract if the Inter does extremely well so why should they have to take salary cut?
