I don't understand how you come up with that number when we talk about those players mentioned.

Well, because Scalvini + Frattesi would be 80-90mil already, and we probably want to park some of that cash with our losses for next season as well. Plus, reinvestment back into some of the extensions, as mentioned.

Sorry, you mean, how are we saving 60m with the players leaving that I mentioned? or saving 60m with the players coming in?

My point is against the 'budget' for this year, our baseline could be as much as saving 60mil right now. That's 60mil that will be divided to covering our losses, and being invested in transfer fees and salaries.

Obviously I'm not expecting us to sit on 60mil and not invest it, or invest all of it, but I'd expect us to spend, for example, money on Scalvini and Frattesi, as an example.

Okay, maybe we should talk about players who are fairly certainly leaving. Brozovic leaving is very doubtful and Correa leaving with net neutral cost is fantasy. We need to eat the amortization cost AND probably part of his salary. Saving is most likely something around 5m than 14m.

So Dumfries sale is the only one which generates us some plusvalenza to offset some of the costs of the replacements.

I'm not quite getting this baseline talk. We are making losses this season aswell. Why else would Zhang use Oaktree credit for the club? We've used 51m of that credit this season already.

Yeah, that's fair. Correa is unlikely to be net zero transaction, but we should reduce some of his overall cost anyway

And, yeah, I do think we're making losses this season - as you say, the credit injection seems to suggest that. I'm just using this season as a baseline, rather than saying its a 0 cost baseline.

Alright I've always wanted to ask this. But I would like someone who isn't going to try hard to be a funny sarcastic like fisher to explain to me something. I'm not really that big on numbers and I don't have a full understanding on our financial situation.

1- Is it Inter that has a lot of debt or is it suning?
2- If new ownership comes, does that mean our debt is gone?
3- When can Inter go back to spending money on marquee signings
4- realistically, are we ever going to be able to sign big players in the next few years?

Thank you.

1. Inter has a lot of debt, over 400m. Suning also took a loan from Oaktree, which is separate from Inter. But it's used as credit for Inter, ie Inter takes shareholder loan from a company which took the Oaktree loan
2. Everything is possible. Maybe with the current rates, that current debt with 6.75% rate isn't terrible and the new ownership do not want to wipe it off. But I assume the price of the club will be low given that huge debt sum
3. No one knows, maybe never. Depends a lot on the new ownership. With Zhangs, it's not possible.
4. Realistically no. Or depends what you define as big player. I doubt we are in position to buy 50m+ players in the coming years.

cafe's basically hit the nail on the head.

Everything will be subject to the new owners (if we ever get any) & any settlement agreements with UEFA, but we have to be realistic, Italy is not a strong league at the moment in terms of international marketing and revenue generation. We need, as a league, to significantly increase revenues, build new stadia, and drive better sponsorship and tv marketing. Even if a new owner comes in and does what Boehly does at Chelsea, that's only ever a temporary bandaid.

This year is going to be our best ever year for revenue probably, we still make significantly less than Tottenham, Chelsea, or Arsenal did last season.

Agreed. Everyone salivating over the cl purse is forgetting the amount of debt this club has. That cash flow doesn't even put a dent in it and it's a major outlier that can't be relied on in future years. If the club is aiming to be financially stable we have to come to terms with the fact that that money has already been spent and it's not going to result in some huge transfer budget.

If this season isn't close to a fiscal break even, I give up.

Or just shows how insane our wages are out of wack. We didn’t buy anyone and went way farther than anyone thought. Winning the league wouldn't have been more money than getting this far in Champions league.

The TV revenue deal in Italy sucks, not having a stadium fks us and the final nail on the coffin is every crap player we have is at least 5m a season

Sad. Whatever this club is doing it's not working. We used to be one of the big boys. Now LAFC is worth as much as us.

I don't know I think LA FC "might be" worth as much as us because of potential. If the MLS becomes the new EPL then yea.... LA, NY, Boston some of the Texas teams could be worth billions. Anyone who think that is happening in the next 10-15 years is crazy. It's also they don't have the debt we do and in the US. I think the State/City pays for stadiums so that teams do not move some place else.

US has the money, infrustuture and is just a better place to live in.

What MLS needs to do is stop buying old shit Euro players. Buy every single U20 player at this World Cup make your league quality better. Compete with any of the non top 5 leagues for the best players. Convince people it's better to go to LA FC than Torino, South Hampton, Cadiz.

If most the best North American NT players + most NT players not from Argentina/Brazil. You can have a pretty strong league.

MLS needs to kill Belgium, Portugal jumps from some of these lesser known players or lesser NTs. The Porto/Benfica to big team jump should be what they are going for. Then go after France then Italy.

I've heard this about the MLS potential for 20 years. The reality is the sports market in the US is oversaturated and the MLS is arguably worse today than it was 5 years ago.

they seem to be focusing on young players from South and North America that is helping their league but they are getting rid of all the youth talent from the US. tho they seem to be losing players to 2nd/3rd divisions.

It really a matter of time tho. If you look at people who go to the stadiums the numbers for the mLS aren't not as bad as europeans want to make it seem like they are.
