bobooooo (until
santon did ok and mancini sucked. adriano and stankovic were our best players, reallly a shame that stankovic hit the crossbar.

nice to see a striker actually scoring an easy chance.

i really hope mourinho never tries mancini as second striker ever, ever again.

otherwise the match was very tight contested. we should really dominate, at least in serie a, but we don't. and the excuse ''everyone plays ultra, ultra, ultra defensive when playing against us"" won't work anymore, cause samp did try to beat us.

Well, after watching some highlights of the game I came to conclusion that Sampdoria didn't have any great scoring chances too. All they did were long-range shots far from the goal. Yes, I watched whole game but wanted to see again if we really sucked that hard.

We didn't play anything fantastic, but neither they did. But they looked maybe slightly better than us. Whole game was shaky and like Zanetti said 'physical'. Lots of fouls, brutal game, pretty sums up the whole match.

Goal.com player ratings

Inter

Julio Cesar – 7.0: A fantastic performance from the Inter keeper in this match, A clean sheet and a number of tremendous saves, including a brilliant effort after 95 minutes to deny Dessena at the death.

Maicon – 7.0: Relatively solid defensively tonight, although he didn’t look as dangerous when going forward. Having said this though, he did set up the goal, following a wonderful run and ball into the area.

Samuel – 6.5: To be fair, the central defender did not have all that much to do tonight. However he completely nullified the impact of Delvecchio in particular, before being replaced at the half time interval.

Chivu – 6.5: Similar performance to his defensive partner in the first half, Chivu performed well in the centre of defence, despite not having all that much to do throughout.

Santon – 6.0: Despite looking a little timid at times, the starlet put in a commendable showing to once again suggest that he will be a great player in the future.

Zanetti – 6.5: Another wonderful captain’s performance, as he worked hard at both ends of the park, and provided great service to his attackers all night.

Cambiasso – 6.5: Not his most dominant of displays, however this man is the true rock of the Inter midfield, and he proved this once again tonight, with a solid showing.

Muntari – 6.0: Like many of his team mates, the former Udinese man was in and out of it at times, however he did what he had to when in possession. Had an outstanding effort on goal denied by Castellazzi after 66 minutes of play.

Stankovic – 8.0: Arguably the best player on the park in this match, as he continued his good form of recent times. He was an integral part of a large majority of attacking movements, and as a result his performance was crucial to the eventual outcome.

Mancini – 6.0: He started brightly in both halves; however he was in and out of it all night. His inconsistency is what lead to his lower then deserved rating, as he did show promise when on the ball.

Adriano – 7.5: He looked the most likely to score out of all the players on the park, and he deservedly managed to do so right on the stroke of half time, as he finished off some great work by Maicon.

Subs: Cordoba 6.5, Figo 6.0, Maxwell 6.0

Stankovic was once again our best player. He tries very hard and it's nice to know that at least someone cares.

Right now its obvious that our midfield will be eaten alive by a team that passes well and has a couple of players we need to keep a close eye on. The wall of 3 DM isnt doing anything offensively nor is it doing a great job defensively lately.Stan did a great job yesterday but i prefer him to be one of the three in the midfield instead of the player behind the strikers. That way we have something offensive coming out of that wall and have someone else who is better suited take that behind the strikers role...

I think its also better for our players if we rotate the DM's so that they dont get tired when we need them the most,in BIG games.

Problem is we dont have anyone that can fill the AM role. Figo and Jimenez are the other two options and none of them look convincing this season

Watched the game. My negative conclusion is that Adriano is horrible. He whiffed on a volley, skied a bicycle kick, and almost missed a sure tap in. This is bad enough on its own, but the heavy breathing and trotting in the 70th minute is unacceptable. He is clearly not fit to play for 90 minutes.

Easy tap-in? That was pretty hard ball in technical sense.
