1) Why did Stan replace JZ? There was no point whatsoever for that. It should have been Mac for Chivu with JZ playing LB.

We speculate, that it's because of recent Javier problems. We didn't want to force it, and be patient.

2) What was the point of Materazzi coming in? Coutinho should really have played some minutes with Pandev coming out. Pandev should be the player coming off the bench for us when we are trailing deep into the game and spaces opening up.

1) It was precaution. Javier comes from a small injury and he wants to make sure to play this coming friday.
2) It is not time for experiments. In order to win 6 titles this year we cannot risk with players that have a great future ahead but not enough experience. What if Roma scored 2 late goals?? It is not a good idea to put this kind of pressure on Coutinho, and make it as it was his responsability..., he will definitely have his chances. I am sure he will do very well.
Furthermore, there might be an unwritten deal between Materazzi and Inter that he must play few minutes on all remining finals in order to put his name on the finals . Hate it or love it, this guy played on all finals...including world cup.
